wars are fought for many reasons, resources are not the only reason...if i go with resources does that mean USA attacked Iraq and Afghanistan to steal their resources? because no wmd's were found there, Tony Blair also apologized for that if you remember.

Their population doesn't really matter because their country is already ruined by war. In 1900 there were less than 2 billion people on earth, and now its over 7 billion, i can assure you most of them are not Syrians.
