I've seen some clips of this guy, Hamdullah Mohib, and he seems very upset at the USA. He is a hand picked rep of Ashraf Ghani. He has made claims that the USA is violating the Strategic Agreement between Afghanistan and USA. There are some in the USA that suspect the Afghan NDS may have been responsible for the Pulwama attack and similar attack in Iran. The Afghan gov has become over entitled and ungrateful. The Americans have realized they should have listened to Musharraf and not tried a nation building exercise in Afghanistan. There is serious war fatigue in the USA, they want out of Afghanistan. The USA doesn't need bases in Afghanistan.... US navy can bomb terrorists from the Arabian Sea, just needs overflight rights from Pakistan. Whats gonna happen next???

Very skewed information.

Very skewed information.

Things might not have changed on the ground yet but there is a huge shift in the thinking of USA administration. Hussain Haqqani's new Af-Pak strategy has lost favor in the Trump admin. I think the Trump admin will be anti-Pakistan and anti-afghanistan going forward. They want Muslims (ISIS-Taliban-ANA) to fight it out. They will mop up any anti USA non state actors from bases in the gulf and aircraft carriers. They are throwing the strategic agreement with Kabul out the window.

.
It is more complex.

One America ruled by the Pentagon/CIA is divided. Some in this quarter want to continue the war in Afghanistan and a few oppose this.

The other America ruled by Trump wants a full exit. It is this America that the Afghans/Indians are having a hard time with.

Trump logic is pretty simple. Trump likes to calculate things. After 18 years and no achievements Trump has made his mind. It is one of the most expensive wars that has resulted in absolutely nothing.

The Americans normally don't sit down with their adversaries. The fact that they had to make this choice should tell you how desperate they are for an exit.

I agree with the fact that Trump administration is generally anti-Muslim. So, they don't have any favourite unlike CIA/Pentagon who work very differently.

Trump is going to run after some settlement is reached with the Taliban. He is not going to waste any money on Afghanistan. I think an agreement is in sight before the next elections.

The Afghan govt and pentagon both want this time to stretch just enough so that war in terror can be revive again. and trump is hell bent on ending it. lets see who wins.

Only the think tanks and older senior military leaders want to continue the war......there are many lower ranking officers in the USA military that want this war to end....they see it as an unwinnable quagmire. If Trump wants the troops removed from Afghanistan, the Pentagon must salute and make it happen. Many NATO courtesies are also evaluating removing their troops. The end of the NATO/USA war in Afghanistan is very near.

There is a reason all those fancy think tanks and CIA doesnt want this war to end. Reason: if this war ends CIA and fancy think tanks will loose A LOT of funding from governement.

I fear that The Americans in future might break this agreement bringing about WW3.
As something similar is hinted at in ahadith about the christians breaking a pact(but this is just a theory of mine and I could be COMPLETELY wrong)

As if USA came in Afghanistan to hunt Osama bin Laden?
As if they were actually interested in building the country or rather building it for their proxies to carry out strategic 5th gen warfare goals in the region.
As if USA is actually just gonna quit their investment and the resulting destabilization in the region and accept defeat on 5th gen level?

You mate, need to widen your perspective and look at the details that are not always apparent to the shallow minded folk :)

What happened in Saigon, at the end of the USA war in Vietnam?

The vast majority of Americans want USA involvement finished. In their minds OBL was killed, declare victory and come home. If terrorists rise again, bomb them from secure bases in the gulf or aircraft carriers. The USA is no longer the sheriff in the region. What happens after they leave is not their problem.
