We are not satisfied about the outcome of 1962, since our soldiers were starved and badly equipped. It also had a major problem with their supply line.

But today is just different, we will 100% make sure that South Tibet will return to China and Kashmir will return to Pakistan if a second Sino-Indian war occurred in the future.

And our ambassador can tell your media to shut up about the controversy of South Tibet and Kashmir, so this only shows how we are confident that we are going to take it back in the future.

Yes your ambassador can tell shut up because that shows as lack of diplomatic courtesy. A person with a stature of ambassador who is lacking a basic courtesy to talk with Journalist...because in your country there is nothing called as freedom for a journalist to ask most difficult questions to any one...So your poor ambassador does not have exp to handle it...

All americans want to do is stroke indian egos get them to buy a few weapons and make some money out of them and possibly use indian in a future war with china as fodder

Just replace USA with China and India with Pakistan. The sentence will make more sense.

hahaha just now i google war in 1987 and this is what i found

1987 Sino-Indian skirmish

In Feb 1986 the army nominated a new chief, General K. Sundarji, who was determined to press the decisions taken by General Krishna Rao. In addition, Sundarji sought government permission to conduct an exercise named Operation Chequerboard to see how quickly troops based in the Assam plains could take up their positions on the Sino-Indian border. As part of the exercise, towards the end of the year, the army landed a brigade of troops at Zimithaung, south of Hathung La using its new heavy lift Mi-26 helicopters. These forces occupied the Hathung La, across the Namka Chu from Thag La. All this alarmed the Chinese forces in the region; they responded with alacrity and moved up their forces to take up positions all along the LAC. At points near this area-- Sulu La, Bum La, etc. the troops were now face to face with their Indian counterparts. This caused concerns of Sino-Indian clashes. However, the forces did not engage in combat.

The result was a thaw. Indian Foreign Minister N.D. Tiwari arrived in Beijing in May 1987 en route to Pyongyang, North Korea. He carried with him messages from Indian leaders that there was no intention on New Delhi's part to aggravate the situation. The first formal flag meeting to discuss “ the freezing of the situation” since 1962, was held on the fifth of August 1987 at Bum La in the aftermath of the Wangdung affair. Both sides decided to take up talks with renewed urgency and the following year, Rajiv Gandhi visited Beijing, returning Zhou Enlai's '60s visit

Both India and China realised the danger of inadvertent conflict and after initial posturing the decision was made to de-escalate their deployments. The Sumdorong Chu fallout was that India and China decided to restart their dialogue on a new and more urgent basis. After Rajiv Gandhi's September 1988 visit, there was a hiatus of sorts because of political turmoil in India. But finally in 1993, the two countries signed an agreement to ensure peace along the LAC.

The agreement brought in an interesting concept of "mutual and equal" security where thinning of forces was envisaged, based on geographical and logistical considerations. However, its most important element is to have the two sides work out a mutually acceptable Line of Actual Control. As of now the two sides have their own versions of the Line and there are points, especially in the Sikkim-Bhutan-India trijunction, the Sumdorong Chu area and so on where the claims are disputed.

Duh the Chinese cry babies cant even handle Vietnam ...why should we need US help to handle these high-school-bullies ?

. .
cos we humilated you guys in 1962 perhaps?

India can guarantee its security by allowing US to setup its bases in India like how Japan and Korea has US bases. Vietnam can also make the same request.

Wall Street Journal - China Bests Japan in Americans’ Eyes

According to results from the 2011 edition of an annual opinion poll commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, some 39% of “general public” respondents selected China as “the most important partner of the U.S. in Asia,” while 31% chose Japan.

While the 2010 version of the poll showed the Asian rivals tied with a 44% rating, the 2011 numbers, compiled from interviews with 1,200 citizens from February to March, represent a stark change compared with just three years ago. In 2008, 43% of the general public selected Japan as the most important partner for the U.S., while 34% plumped for China.

The opinion leaders’ view of which country in Asia is the most important partner for the U.S. offers even more emphatic confirmation that trade relations, usually cited as the main reason for a preference for China, are increasingly carrying more weight than political or general ties with the U.S., usually cited as a reason for choosing Japan. Over the past three years’ surveys, opinion leaders’ preference for Japan has nearly halved, to 28% from 54%, while their preference for China increased to 46% from 38%. The results in part reflect China officially overtaking Japan as the world’s second-biggest economy earlier this year.

----------

According to the Wall Street Journal, polls showed that the majority of Americans thought that China was the USA's most important partner in Asia, followed by Japan.

India did not score high enough to even be mentioned in the article.

Lol suffering 50% casualties even after outnumbering 10 to 1 and that too while facing an army that was unprepared and poorly equipped and leaving everything behind after realizing that the logistics was getting too thin can hardly be called 'humiliating'.

For humiliation see the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
