US underlines Pakistan’s ‘deficiencies’ in countering terrorism - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

The difference between the two cases is the degree of dependence.
You can see that we have good relations with both US and russia, israel and iran. We do not believe in the zero sum game, which helps us collaborate on issues on which we agree and prevent disagreements from becoming conflicts.

We are in a brink of a trade war with US by imposing duties on their goods, but we collaborate on strategic issues.
You on the other hand put all your eggs in one basket and abdicate your interests for the sake of others.
That has happened in past but not anymore. Currently our biggest deficiency is our government who does not care about all this issue and are busy in securing personal ground

.
America can cry rivers all day long. It won't make any difference.

Pakistan won't provide any help in America's failed war.

Even today, you are going towards china. And if FATF puts you on the grey list, you would be heavily dependent on china.

On the point of the government, in democracies, all political parties behave the same way.
You should not put the entire blame on the govt. The establishment wanted JuD and others in the mainstream and allowed them to make political parties.
On matters of foreign policy and defense, your army always plays a major role. Whenever your country is in trouble, blames goes to the government. When they do something good, the army takes the credit.

America just doesn't have the same clout any more. No 1 gives attention to american demands anymore. Their own country is spilt in the middle socially and those headlines are beamed across the world everyday.

we wont cave in to their demands anymore, if we are going to die rather die with our heads held up then being slaves of America. You live by the sword you die by the sword.

America may have its problem, but it is inflicting damage. The europeans are also supporting this move.
If it didnt matter to you, you should not have signed the ordinance. Your foreign minister is also negotiating with americans to get some reprieve.

You cannot claim bravado here and then go begging US for pardon. Your govt and military should come and tell you guys what they intend to do. If you guys get on the list, the businesses will suffer, the remittances from the gulf, europe and america will suffer. Only transactions with china will be unaffected.

Mate, PDF members may think that US action will have no effects, but, what we can see is Govt & Military of Pakistan understands gravity of the situation and has virtually accepted to all the conditions put forwarded by mediators (Arabs).

You guys are blaming and making fun of americans for this initiative. But do you understand the consequences of getting in the grey list? It will slow down your remittances which are a major source of forex for you guys.
You can blame murica all you want, but if they are successful in putting you on that list, its gonna hurt. Which means they were effective while you could fo nothing to stop them.
Oh, consequences? We know. Indians will complain and complain and again complain to Dad Sam and licking his boots for sanctions against Pakistan. Sami dad won't oblige and rather would prefer a compromise through back channels. Indians would lick their wounded ego pessimistically and in the meantime wait for some dignitary to visit India so that they could vent their disappointment with a couple of statements against terrorism. Khail khatam, paisa hazam.

U wouldn't believe it but i was expecting the same answer from u. First of all if pakistan goes into grey list how would we put all our apples in the basket of china. Secondly, when u say that our army controls the foreign policy and accuses governments for all the mishap or failures and take the credits of progressive things it is way expected from u guys. If President asif ali zardari and PPP just after 10 years of military dictatorship can gradually shift our foreign policy from anglo-sexon block to central asian countries and work for long term relations of Russia and Pakistan why can't our present government pursue some diplomatic approach for betterment of our foreign policy and where was army during the tenure of PPP. Other than that PML(N), after it came to givernment they did not appoint any foreign minster which was disastrous espacially after terrorist narendar modi was maligning pakistan at every platform. Whose fault is it ? Army or government ?. If we say government is responsible. We mean something that classical and d pro army view do not have anything to do with it. Even currently when so serious thing is being passed, pmln is purely emphasising on its politics and celebrating the victory of lodran while ignoring this issue

You may call it whatever you want, but influencing US foreign policy and changing its alignment is a job well done by our diplomats.

And its not just uncle sam now, is it? I believe indonesia was one of the sponsors of this proposal.

You are right in a sense that PPP had a pro active policy lead by Heena Rabbani Khar. But when NS came to power, his relationship with the army was already troubled. He abdicated the whole foreign policy dimension to the army.

Every dignitary which visits Pakistan has to visit the army chief. This tradition has diluted the powers of the democratically elected governments. You guys should protest in such cases and ask them to respect democratically elected leaders.

LOL make up your mind and stop sending confused signals. Your daddy America doesn't waste a single day in pointing out how Pakistan is moving out of US sphere. Yet, here you are trying to make us believe how our government and army is desperate to mediate. Make up your mind.

Give it up buddy. Stop begging us to do more. You lost. Plain and simple.

Fix opiumland and stop begging Pakistan. Pakistan doesn't give a fvck about the US, India or Afghanistan. Do whatever the hell you wanna do, but stop begging us to be part of your mess. No amount of US threats or alignment jobs will pressure Pakistan to do more. You better get used to that idea.

Didn't Indian on this forum said the same thing when US threatened us for stopping the aid money and what happened after they stop the aid money and now this :). Come up with something good and new which other can buy it otherwise it's better move on.

PMLN is selected government and they abandoned their foreign ministry seat so it is government who should respect our votes not the other institutions. This is pretty much obvious that if government would remain silent on such serious issues than someone has to answer trump's and america's absurd statement so here comes our army who are also fighting against terrorism
