US to replace Russia as India’s biggest arms supplier?

How stupid Indian Government is ... they provide arm to Pakistan and India still purchasing arm from them ......... stupidity at its best
hey bahgwan...tumhe kya ho gaya???

.
Look at what they provide to Pakistan (a few F-16's and some other small stuff) to keep the Pakistani's happy and to get them to cooperate in the WOT.

now take a good look at the equipment that is on offer to us from america
like the
P8I,C-17,C-130j ,F-16Blk70/ F/A-18SH,Fleet Tankers etc.....

Don't forget, they even offered us the F-35 as replacements if F-16 is selected in the MRCA.

Yes that too:cheers:
We have to remember that USA gives weapons to Pakistan to appease them and nothing more and besides so much lobbing was needed for those F-16 they got.

But for us we just need to put up a competition notice and they offer their best stuff for us.

Its a gud wakeup call for Russians too. After the debacle of Vikramaditya, this was much needed. Always, customer is the king of the market and russians should know this.:sniper: Hence they should be more careful now.

US is arming Pakistan is not a big deal, after all they get is F-16s and they buy in small numbers for their ditterent. If you see most of the defense work horse is China made, which suits their budget and helps in mass production.

India for a decade will be the principal buyer of Russian weapons.
I think after the PAKFA and MTA we dont have major deals linked with them.

Most probably we gain experience in these fields we will move to our own indegeneous platforms and that is what is pretty much on focus now a days.

the TOT stuff is mainly aimed at that regardless of how much it supports our own technology. Mostly after this decade we will not buy any major weaponry from other countries but JVs are very much on cards as we will still lack in key techs..

It doesnt matter who replaces what, what matters now is how much of forign equipment we are replacing by our own after that. With all the buying we are doing indicating to this direction.

However Russia will not remain in No1 after some time. Its for sure.

Unless the bring some professionalism to their ethics for business.

russia might have haggled over money- they might have caused some delay..... yet they have never put sanctions on us.....they even defended us against the US in 71 war wen US ships were in the bay of bengal . The more we buy frm US the more vulnerable we become to their sanctions..... a time might come wen we have to obey their every whim in fear of sanctions.....(like pakistan - still even pakistan has learned its lesson and is now buying frm china) add to that their tech is always the most expensive

.
first of all, russia is the try and tested friend, which is not the case with US. apart from that at the time of war, who will ensure the uninterrupted supply of parts. indians need to be sure about this. there is compatibility issue, army is more familiar with russians weapons than US.

.
US is considering changing the rules of inspection for India, to encourage more arms sales. They need the money. Russia need not worry. India is working with both US and Russia. :coffee:

.
anyways v hav a huge budget of $100 bn for the modernization of indian army, v can make both of them happy and get the best deals

.
Russia is an old and trusted freind, US cant take its position just by being generous in selling arms. Bond between India and Russia is more than arms sale I think. Indians will always be thankful for the support they provided us during '72 war. Indo-russian friendship is closer at any given day than indo-us can become in forseeable future.
