US' South Asia policy faulty

.
"The convert US raid on bin Laden's hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan, further affected the dysfunctional strategic mutual trust between the two countries."

Thats just hilarious! Navy SEALs there to convert Osama during the raid!

.
Again, why don't you find me a source, to back up your ridiculous claim here?

This statement above is clearly just BS.

In terms of economic/diplomatic/military ties with China, there are many other Asian countries that beat out India by far. It's almost a joke.

I like the way you avoided answering anything to replace it with rhetoric. That's your prerogative.

Together,we represent a bloc, like it or not.Your government seems to adhere that too. It's just you who is disillusioned by the politics.

Here's what your own media agencies have to say about the matter;

A Look at Sino-Indian Trade Relations | China Briefing News

Face it bro,We are the biggest entities in Asia. There's no way we are going to ignore each other.Unlike yourself,The Chinese government realizes the importance of Sino-Indian ties currently and for the future

From the Chinese standpoint the US policy is indeed wrong.

They (US) are proving to be a stumbling block to China wanting to project its hegemonic interest in Asia to include the Pacific.

I think that american policy is destructive in our region. For example it would have been good if the ipi oil pipeline had been built for iran, pakistan and india. All three countries would have tried to protect this project and it may have drawn us closer because all three countries would have gained. We need projects that bring us closer. However American interests prevailed and they put pressure on india not to go for it.

The key is whether China views India as a competitor or ally (and vice-versa), and signs have increasingly pointed to the former. It's not particularly suprising considering the multitude of issues on which they stand on opposite sides, Sino-India ties are important like Sino-US ties are important, not like US-Canada ties are important.

i am not exactly prejudiced against any co-operation with pak but going for the ipi would have been an energy-security suicide for india....luckily india went out of this project....let me explain why.....

1) iran did not agree to deliver gas at our borders......it said it will deliver gas at pak border with iran...meaning it will not take responsibility for gas when it transits through pak.....

2)the region through which the pipeline comes...balochistan....is riddled with insurgency...and the speciality of baloch insurgency is blowing pipelines....

3) we cannot afford to have the lifeline of our economy to the whims of pakistan..a hostile country...whats the guarentee in war pak will not shut the tap off...or even in some heightened tension period...it will not do it.....it essentially holds indian progress at ransom..

4) non state actors....some jihadi fundo may blow up the pipeline for the sake of kashmir...and our supply will be disrupted.....

all in all it was very fortunate india didnt agree to ipi...and instead got he nuclear deal...which is more advantageous...and is the energy of the future.... ..

Their hard stance could provoke Pakistanis and help Islamic extremists strengthen their base in Pakistan.

As someone wisely put it "Pakistan is the only country on this planet that negotiates with a gun pointed at its own head".

How? The IPI didn't work out because Iranians did not accept the condition of payment on the amount of gas we receive in Indian side whatever happens in between. Meaning that some loony in say Balochistan or Sindh could blow up the pipeline and we will be held hostage to the gas supplies with virtually nothing to replace immediately.

If we didn't go for it, it was because your government could not guarantee assurances in uncontrolled regions of your country. Let's be practical; how much of your military is there in Balochistan? Even if it is there, is its job to protect gas pipelines? No. Will Pakistan allow staging of Indian special forces stationed in its soil to look after the billions of worth of Gas flowing in? NO. Then what is the guarantee for all the payments we make to Iran? That is in cold hard $$ mate. And it isn't a small amount.

US' offer of nuclear energy was a big big compensation. Simple as that. Being the only exempt country from nuclear apartheid (NSG was created against India after 1974), getting a source of power that lasts for decades with negligible air pollution and cheap electricity in our towns... what's better? You tell me.

Perhaps, but it's clear that it understands Pakistan. And while we are on the subject, does it seem that the author, Fu Xiaoqiang, understands US policy?

The author is on the money that the killing of Bin Laden has changed US Pakistan relationship, but why would the author call for the US to be more circumspect and not treat the two as unequally as it does? To me this was a curious stand.

From this piece, can we take it that China are not as eager as some think, to swim in South Asian waters and prefers the US to keep a lid on things?

Yes, correct analysis. The one post in this thread so far that makes sense.
China wants all the advantages of being a great power without really having to pay for it. Not really a bad idea. But it is based on the assumption that all the great powers of the world in recorded history were wrong. The Greeks, Romans, Mongols, British, French, Germans, Russians/Soviets and the Americans were all wrong and the Chinese know something that the others did not. Only time will tell.

Pakistan, by allowing the US to operate Drones, in Pakistan; allowing the Killing of Pakistani Cistizens ( Women, Children and old men); and by having allowed the US Military (Seals) to operate in the Country, killing Citizens and doreigners (Osama Bin Laden) presents is self as a Government that is:
1. Secretly approving deals with the US and trying to hide them?
2. Blind Sided by their big Buddy, benifactor?
3. Taken for their enneptituded, as the demonstarted by the US in this action of not giving advance notice,
which they may not have been grants leading to a second bag of worms?
After reading the article on Dufus Clinton, What I donot not understand, and personally find unacceptable,
his her public suggest that Pakistan or any other Soverign State...sould jump becames SHE said ( meaning the US).

That would be the worst mistake that any foreign Government (Rule) could make.

I think personally, Ms Clinton needs to come home and park with Bill!

.
Yet we are successfully strengthening our relations with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Yet you are endangering relations with Vietnam and the Philippines. There is an article that tells about China's concern about the military building by South East Asian countries that could be a threat to their interests.
