US sees no role for India in Afghanistan

.
It's true,we wouldn't want to be part of the peace process because we wouldn't be able to bring anything to the table in that department. Peace among the various factions of Afghanistan needs to be exclusively looked into by the United States,Pakistan and Afghanistan.

What we are looking out for is a strategic presence, economic routes and a piece of Afghanistan's mineral resources, all of which have been guaranteed to us.

these are all typical knee-jerk type reactions...What value will these words hold in the long-run.

Changes, effects are dependent upon actions, mere opinions, are mere opinions only.
India is actually doing something in Afghanistan, like training ANA,providing them equipment, constructions projects etc. and it has got a positive impact upon relation between the two countries. That is the objective,I see the objective being fulfilled, from the view expressed by the Afghan government, and that is all that I care.
Different people are entitled to see things the way they see fit,but that does not mean that ground reality changes with the ever changing opinion.
End of story..................................

Thats good news.India should not get involved in solving others' problems.Humanitarian projects are one thing. That creates goodwill among the people unanimously. But negotiating for the sake of others means you cannot do that without enraging one party in atleast some form.A stable and modern Afghanistan, friendly to India and good bilateral trade relations-that should be the Indian objective, that happens to be the Indian objective.Anything beyond that is a trouble-maker.

This was not the general consensus of opinion by Indians on PDF yesterday. They were saying what a great idea this was forall concerned etc. When i questioned their involvement yesterday they were suggesting i was getting irate. Not at all. I want all to be involved if peace can be found hen why not involve all. I just couldnt understand the logic.
One can deduce the following from the last couple of days. America send their puppet to India to wind you know who up. Then sit back to have a laugh. India feel honored that they have been asked to do anything. Pakistan's ears prick up and feel uneasy. America thinks "job done" this bring Pakistan to think like the way we want them to. One can say it was a kind of blackmail. They are exceptionally talented at doing that. Now they have used India they can put them to one side and try sorting their cr*p out before they leave.
Trust me Indians should be celebrating today.....

Indian Army training ANA is just fine. Its acceptable that one country is helping another country to train the army and providing equipment. The dam, roads constructions projects are also acceptable.
But I don't think playing a role of a mediator is a right thing to do.That way India may get dragged into the internal politics of the country, and we all know how messy the internal situation is there.
It is a turbulent time there and all that I am saying is India should not take sides the way Pakistan or US did.Afghanistan is the country of the Afghans and they should decide what is good for them. So,in my opinion,India should not be in the position of a mediator, its simply not our job.India should not do the mistake that the British,Soviets,Pakistanis and Americans did,if we are to learn something from history.

. . . .
It was never in Indian interests to play the role of a mediator. We are interested in collaborating with the current administration in Afghanistan, with their military and civilian institutions. We are also interested in gaining access to Afghanistan's natural resources.
India signed a strategic pact with the Afghan government...not the Taliban...nor are we interested in doing anything along those lines...Well, at least not publicly...:P

i will ask this question after 2014 when taliban will come back in power

---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:21 PM ----------

no boarder no role

What will happen when the US will leave?Taliban will no longer have any enemy to fight in Afghanistan. What will happen to Pakistan then?Who will keep the taliban engaged in a fight? It is not like India shares a border with Afghanistan, but Pakistan does.
