India's jealousy towards China is the only reason that panders to the divide and conquer tactic of US.

Its definitely not about jealously...we look at China more has a role model...the only thing is we are vary about China..what else do you expect when a country supports our enemy and its interests and has territorial disputes with us?? Stop blaming we like US and stuff...if you are good to us we will be good to you..if your bad to us we will be bad to you.

We know how to play the diplomatic game very well...see how we got the 123 Nuclear deal from USA and we have yet not signed for any nuclear reactors from them.. We have not bought F-16 and F-18 planes even after top level pressure from USA...but We know what is good for us..We have bought C-17 and C-130j from USA as they will be helpful to us..

Can u say the same thing about Pakistan?? U run from daddy USA to daddy China or abba Saudi Arabia? and still dont get what u need...

America will treat any country as a threat that is trying to develop its Military to the point where it may pose a challenge to our Hegemony. Indian navy is a threat to our American power as they have ambitions in the Indian Ocean. US will not allow another Blue Water Navy in the Indian Ocean.

US and India are allies as of now.....yeah we may become rivals in the future...but that is after mutually containing china ..but that time we may join with china to contain US...we are very good in these diplomatic games..

Dont Agree on this , American Presence In IOR [Diego Garcia] is Not seen as a Threat By India and Its Military , While on Other Hand American Presence In South China sea Is Looked as a Threat By China

He chose the wrong words and corrected himself. It isn't exactly that China and India are 'threats', it's to be aware of the challenges they provide, economically, militarily, and politically. The goal is to show any rising power in the region, whether India, China, Australia, or Japan that the US isn't going to leave the region, with each side having the freedom to take what that means differently depending on their own allignment.

There are no direct areas of conflict between India and the US, so those trying to stuff meaning in Panetta's words that wasn't there, and that he says himself wasn't there have the burden of proof placed on them.

Prove that the US views India as a threat, all actions of late seem to point to the US viewing India as a partner, or at least not an adversary.

Really? That's why they arming indian navy with p-8i? And later they will armed our navy with F-35??.... It was america who told india to build naval capablitys. Our babus were sleeping before.... indian navy the best navy in asia.... China knows it very well.

I think we were dangerously close to that situation during 72(and cold war) and drifting far away from it, as of now.
