Interesting how some folks on this thread are asking for benefit from US when the biggest beneficiary of peace in Afghanistan would be Pakistan. You would think that would be reason enough to pursue negotiations regardless of what US offers or doesn't offer.

If you want F-16s and other US equipment, pay cash for it, but don't expect US to subsidize it in anyway. If you want to increase trade with US, ask for more business visas so Pakistan businesses can market their goods and services in US. But don't make unreasonable demands.

US can just leave Afghanistan altogether and so will Pakistan's leverage. Play it smart.
