well MAYBE, but rather than relying on Lakshmi Mittal i must concentrate more on the lyrics of the song by ENRIQUE IGLESIAS "Here's the situation
Been to every nation
Nobody's ever made me feel the way that you do
You know my motivation
Given my reputation
Please excuse me I don't mean to be rude
But tonight I'm loving you"
i have Hope in myself and we still have hope
OK let me make this clear to you, US has given India a huge technology market (IT and Engineering), US opened up it's defence markets to India after confidence building measures were in place. We opted for few military hardware from them which seemed like optimal choices. saying that, we are in no way dependent or have aligned ourselves to any US interest.
Let me reiterate that India has and will always put Indian interests first.
India-russia relations transcends politics and trade. USSR had stood by India in time of it's need and we will never forget that. After the collapse of USSR, russia has been extended the same gratitude and respect as the successor state of USSR. Russia has supported India's foreign policy and promoted India in UNSC. When most of west was busy imposing sanctions on us Russia stood by us. We are the only country which actually provides joint-collaborations (IRAL, BrahMos) and investment in Russian military complex. Indian establishment is so insanely pro-russia, that it often tramples domestic products in favour of russian hardware.
India has also heavily invested in russian energy sectors and provided access to russians to Indian sector. In 2001, ONGC-Videsh Limited acquired 20% stake in the Sakhalin-I oil and gas project in the Russian Federation, and has invested about US $ 1.7 billion in the project. The Russian company Gazprom and Gas Authority of India Ltd. have collaborated in joint development of a block in the Bay of Bengal. Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project with two units of 1000 MW each is a good example of Indo-Russian nuclear energy cooperation. Both sides have expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the energy sector.
And such is the trust level with India, russia doesn't hesitate transferring the most advanced technologies which may not even be in their inventory to India. Russia's export and devlopment of MKI, RVV-AE, RVV-SD, KH-172, to name a few have been invaluable to IAF. Russian technology transfer to Cochin shipyard, GSRE, and MDL has led to development of excellent indigenous platforms for Indian navy. Russian participation in high technology civilian projects has added positive boost to Indian infrastructure. ILTP is coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology from the Indian side and by the Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Ministry of Industry & Science and Technology from the Russian side.
Chandrayaan-2 is a joint lunar exploration mission proposed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Russian Federal Space Agency (RKA) and has a projected cost of 425 crore (US$90 million). The mission, proposed to be launched in 2013 by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) launch vehicle, includes a lunar orbiter and a rover made in India as well as one lander built by Russia.
When it comes to Indo-Russian relations, it outperforms Pakistan's relations with China and US combined by miles.
Hence please get the "re-alignment of ally's" non-sense out of your head.
thanks
