US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo meets PM Imran in Islamabad

By the way this time, visit was less propagated by media as compare to past, stayed on point, officials hold talks as per agenda, no VIP protocols or Red Carpet, came in talked & left; which also seems to be a change in respect of doing the right thing and the way it deserves.
The time was limited Japanies delegation was also there to meet in the foreign office.

Good that IK didn't have a one on one with him.

Ex Royal Highness-es use to take advantage of meetings behind the closed doors where incompetent lot use to receive orders and Premier couldn't resist pressure by the handler. Having a competent team means a good game to be seen and there, it seems that after a while; Pakistan has done well.

Is anything known about the results? How do you know who has done well or not thus far?

Are you asking about official press release? I am all about the teams working till now. Not to forget FM Office gave a bit of news to media outlets. Its all about national interest on mutual level. No Do More and no compromise over National Sovereignty. You will find soon.

Good that IK didn't have a one on one with him.

But why did Pompeo met COAS alone as well ? IK had a meeting with him along with full delegation at either sides including coas and isi head.

Geo is saying US has asked for Pakistan for do more while other channels are reporting that do more was not discussed.

Imran entry in the scene

Imran is sitting as the CE and it is not one to one either, calling the shots and conducting the meeting and maybe cracking a joke...didn't shook hands with Z. Khalilzada as well it seems. He raises the bar when needed and is well versed with posturing and stance to be taken...

Want to see the voices video of the meeting? :)
Pompeo got the message from the air port and was then briefed in foreign office. This is Naya Pakistan. Yes Imran Khan never took the hand of the khalilzada.

I don't see any discredit until & unless official statements followed by developments in this regard. Pompeo & Co. can try to appease Delhi in any way they want, beside Trump Administration wants India as a new heir in Afghanistan, but there are facts and ground realities that US is well aware. Pakistan cannot afford anymore losses and in view of several developments in last months, it is highly unlikely that current Government will take pressure and compromise over national interest. Messages are conveyed from both sides previously and like US, Pakistan too understand situation hence, a lot of changes in foreign diplomacy in respect of having close ties with every one out there instead of compromising our national interest upon US behest.

The only way forward is based upon mutual and national interests. Pakistan cannot be anymore on receiving end of US demands. Pompeo & Co. is already off the opinion to give more space & Authority to India in the region which is not viable in long run. Current situation is like Taliban > US > China, Russia & Pakistan in the end.

He said that the US wants good and stable relations with the Pakistan government.

Both leaders discussed bilateral ties and matters pertaining to improvement in Pak-US relations.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that they want relations with the US based on mutual respect.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa were also present.

*– US wants strong relation with Pakistan –*

Earlier talking to journalists prior to leaving for Pakistan in Washington, he expressed hope for improvement in bilateral ties during the term of new government in Pakistan.

Mike Pompeo said the United States wants Pakistan to help it for mediation in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan and the United States will have to make joint efforts to deal with common challenges.

The US Secretary of State, who arrives in Islamabad on Wednesday, will be accompanied by Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford.

No "do more" mantra then?

Yeah!

Mike Pompeo is a radical evangelical that believes in bombing random Muslim countries, he should have not have been allowed to meet the honorable PM Imran Khan, should have just arranged a meeting with the Pakistani foreign minister. Seriously I don't like this fat piece of junk. He looks like hes full of fat literally.
