Evidently, reports from the US prove Pakistan’s involvement in Pathankot Airbase Attack
On January 2016, a heavily armed group
attacked the Pathankot Airbase, part of India’s Western Air Command. The attack led to the killing of six Indian security personnel. Soon thereafter, India
blamed Pakistan, more specifically Jaish e Mohammad (JeM), for having orchestrated attacks on the Pathankot Airbase. Some two months ago, Pakistan was asked to bring the perpetrators to justice. Pakistan actively denied allegations of her involvement in the attack and even sent a probe team to investigate. The team concluded that the attack was staged.
Two months have passed since India asked Pakistan to bring the perpetrators to justice. Of course, non-existent perpetrators cannot be brought to justice – a little something that common sense dictates. The United States however, recently handed in evidence “confirming” that the attack on Pathankot Airbase indeed came from Pakistan. The United States is home to massively sophisticated technologies, and best intelligence agencies, the spy network is genuinely “scary”, and it is a fairly popular opinion hardly anything is
unknown to the States. So, naturally, the reports submitted should have brought some seriously damaging and potent evidence.
According to
Times of India, the United States informed the National Investigation Agency (NIA), India, that the IP addressesof Facebook accounts of JeM handlers behind the attack, and the IP address of the website of JeM’s financial arm, Al Rehmat Trust, are located in Pakistan. According to the report,
The US has confirmed that all these websites and IP addresses originated in Pakistan and the photos were uploaded around the time of Pathankot attack.
The photos in question were apparently uploaded on Facebook and belonged to the four terrorists that were killed in the Pathankot Airbase attack.
India makes a compelling case here blaming a cross-country terrorist attack on Pakistan because of Facebook and IP addresses. Of course, mentioning the United States makes it all the more “serious”. Two questions though; How difficult is it really to manipulate IP addresses? Why would authorities even allow jihadi and terrorist groups on Facebook? Can’t be freedom of speech right?
India is the IT center of the world, more or less, and they needed the United States to report on the IP addresses? U.S. with all its sophisticated toys came up with IP addresses to ascertain that Pakistan indeed was behind the Pathankot Airbase attack? After all this time (eight months), the only “real” evidence a super power came up with associates with IP addresses and Facebook.
Manipulating IP addresses is covered in Computers 101, not a big deal. As far as Facebook is concerned, it’s interesting their policy allows for mass murderers to not only make accounts on Facebook, but add [terrorist] friends and make groups etc. What’s even more interesting is that terrorism organizations actually use Facebook and flaunt their [terrorist] assets.
Instigating hatred and propaganda is a simple thing, but honestly, you are fooling no one if you come up with stuff like Facebook and IP addresses, except for those who search for an opportunity to hate on one another perhaps. At any rate, the evidence presented by the States is no less than a joke.
