US prepared to snatch Pakistan nukes

Even if they snatch all nuclear weapons, how will they take away nuclear capability? The question stumps me and the paramount stupidity of people who think this is possible equally amazes me.

.
The fears of a Taliban take over of Pakistan is over. There was major concern in 2009 when Taliban took over Swat and moved to a mere 50km from Islamabad. That is when talk of sending US Special Forces to disable Pakistani Nukes really caught momentum.

But with Pakistani Army launching its offensive to remove the Taliban from Swat, US Drone strikes devastating the ranks of the Taliban and Al Qaeda and the US Surge in Afghanistan which really taxed the Taliban forces. The threat is over.

There has been a major decrease in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, thanks to better policing, drone strikes and Pakistani Army offensives.

Only the last bastion of North Waziristan remains which most or if not all US drone strikes are occurring.

. .
From space. Yes. Implementing them on ground is an issue. Even for the "god" his highness United States of America.
You are not a US military planner, I get it.

Let me make this clear to you; contingency plans of this scope are not though-out in single day. Considerable planning and preparation in the background takes place to accomplish complex hypothetical tasks.

US war-games hell of a lot bigger nations then Pakistan (e.g. China). Our nation is not much of a problem in the big picture.

On a serious note no "snatching" is possible. There are only two options to counter "threat" of Pakistan's nukes.

1 Completely nuke Pakistan
2 Somehow Pakistani govt with the consensus of Pakistani nation agrees to wrap up it's nuclear program and deliver them to America for some big amount of $$$.
Their is no plan of snatching. The plan is about nuetralizing.

If you study US war doctrines, you will realize that US has developed/and is developing tactical nuclear weapons for these kinds of hypothetical missions. US will use combination of conventional and tactical nukes to neutralize threats of considerably proportions.

That fear was never real in first place.

Yeah yeah animalistic blah blah.. we "bhartis" are so evil. You had to bring "Kashmir" and "religion" in everything.

Yeah now Taliban are not your people, they are created by evil "hindoos" and "WWE RAW".You are the same who not only created Taliban but officially recognized it's govt alongwith Saudis. So now when they got against you its not your people anymore.

Now you are ignoring the point... how come IAF shot down your navy plane killing 16 onboard but mighty PAF didn't do anything at all?

btw we can sleep better with a assumption that at least no drone is going to attack us while we sleep.

Your post is a fair representative of your intellect, you need to mature (a lot) before you are fit for any intellectual discourse. For now, your post is full of rants and much of it. Kindly come back when the growth spurts stop, kid.

You still have to mention how America will neutralize Pakistani nukes?

I am more interested in this part than knowing how cool America is.

During OBL OP, A Sentinel Drone Were overseeing the whole operation from above and and according to american accounts, These dronw watched OBL house before the Operation, which means Pakistan didn't knew about the stealth drone in it's airspace which means, America has deployed such drones over Nuclear Installations without getting detected? or 24/7 satellite coverage of our nuclear plants and watching the movement of trucks coming in and out might gave them the idea of our Storage facilities?

LOL your leaders practically handed over most of the locations to the US. Other facilities would already be figured out. The nukes would be moved to military/ scientific / or government facilities not civilian. So hazard a guess that the US knows most of these locations and would have practically created a duplicate set of one of your nuke storage facility and would have practiced the take over. :D

Pakistan's nuclear assets are distributed across much of the country, that's the 36th largest landmass in the world. Although I am confident that CIA doesn't have a clue where they are, but I'll suggest for argument sakes that 2 locations are neutralized and the US decides to nab them. Here's what will happen, IMHO:

1) They won't attack, the Americans are smarter than that.

2) They have a fit of fanaticism and send in those stealth helos to take the nukes.

Now let's build on scenario two, at location X. Three choppers are dispatched for location X (Any more and they risk forming a cluster that may result in small radar reflection from each helo, resulting in a significant ping back). From the size of the wreckage, I estimate that helo carries less than 10 people including two pilots. So let's say there are 6 armed SEALS in each. The Helicopters enter Pakistani airspace undetected. They reach site X and:

1) Are spotted, taken alive/killed in cross fire.
2) Manage to infiltrate the facility

Building on scenario 2, now that they are inside the facility, they face hundreds of well trained, fiercely motivated members of the SPD who are also armed to the teeth.

1) They are killed/taken alive.
2) They go Rambo and kill every SPD personnel onsite.

Building on scenario 2, they find the warheads (Under 10) but what do they remove them with? They can't just carry them, time is of the essence as back up is probably inbound.

1) They leave without the warheads.
2) They destroy the warheads on site.

Building on scenario 2, if they destroy the nukes on site, a massive radiation leak will affect much of Pakistan's civilian populace. Depending on the time of year, winds from the bay of Bengal or from the Mediterranean sea will carry the winds loaded with radiation to neighbouring countries. With so much enriched uranium, I predict a Radiation cloud that will put Chernobyl to shame. The Americans are smarter than that.

Conclusions:

1) Any such raid is impossible.
2) Indians go home sad.

Icarus, please stop giving bhartis ideas for bollywood films.

These can be infiltrated by SF's and carpet bombing is not the only trick in their arsenal, as shown by LeGenD already.

Air supremacy ensures that you can bomb your enemy with impunity at any time, any place. You of all people should know how important and game changing, air support can be.
Pakistani's push into Afghanistan is irrelevant. When the Americans come, they would cause too much mayhem and would give little time to respond. And your ground forces will still be pounded by heavy carpet bombing if they induce in any such adventure. Anyway, why did you miss the rest of that scenario. Dodging?

Ofcourse:toast_sign:

With the limited number of troops in Afghanistan and the topography of the Pak-Afg border. Air-superiority is quickly nullified. Remember when the Americans just about levelled Tora Bora? The AQ leadership didn't even seem to notice, they kept on issuing video tape after video tape. Even today, the cave networks are intact and still in use with the terrorists. I saw Legend's post and it all boils to the same. The radiation cloud will quickly engulf the region (in the wind direction determined by the prevailing wind system). This means it's a 50/50 scenario. There's a chance the US may end up packing up from Afg quicker than expected to save their boys from radiation contamination. Then there's the chance that the wind may blow the nuclear dust cloud over India. That would pose serious problems for the US. India as a booming economic powerhouse is an important country to keep happy. So the 'nuking the nukes' theory wouldn't fare well. Infiltration is the only course of action that even has a remote chance of success.
I am not dodging anything, kindly highlight the part you want answered.

Oh my god this thread is still alive. Bogus news without basis.

First logical post on this entire thread. Cheers!

Glad to have a representative of the GoP on board who is well aware of who knows which state secrets. Source?

LOL...was just kidding :D

. .
A question to ask is will USA go at this alone or get India involved in this as well in some sort of joint USA-India operation.

.
Likewise ..................

On a serious note every nation has an innate inbuilt strength to maintain state secrets which are critical to the state's security -Pakistan is no different.

A question to ask is will USA go at this alone or get India involved in this as well in some sort of joint USA-India operation.

:D what do think?, I thought Pakistani's would have us figured out by now.

.
No.

This is not necessary. Why would US launch such a daring venture without sufficient reasoning?

In case of conflict, all marked sites will be hit - phantom or not.

These are political talks.

You cannot.

Never assume that we are adequately prepared for all kinds of threats. We continue to improve for a reason.

1. Sensitive information like this is never disclosed in public.
2. We do not know that what technological means have been employed to collect this kind of information.
3. Pakistan is not the only nation whose strategic assets are being spied upon by US. You can add India and China in the list too.

Iraqi military did fight in 2003.

Unless US have powerful reason, it will never conduct this kind of operation.

They can attack from air.

Ground invasion is not required. This will be a special forces based operation with air cover.

Valid point.

Strange. This kind of news came to light during WOT.

This is not the point.

This entire game is about timing. If Pakistani strategic assets are in dismantled form, then situation can get out of hand.

Experts will accompany the special forces.

Still this comment made me laugh.

No the Iraqi Republican guard fought the main army were ordered to stand down by Generals who defected
DID THE IRAQI ARMY TAKE A DIVE FOR THE U.S.?
That is just one of many articles which elude to this fact.
