US Predator not as good as China's CH-4 drone: Chinese media

probably..some report suggests India do possess few Predator drones, but it may not be true.but even then,we do possess comparable tech.

its specs are better than Predator.but then again, its futile to brag about this tech as world moved on far ahead than this.

Bro, to be honest, China is way ahead of India in drone/UCAV and they seem to be progressing even more faster with different drone versions. India isn't even in contention at all yet. So you shouldn't really make fun of them. Only the U.S and Israel can still make fun, since they are still ahead/leaders in these field for now.:D:P

Yeah like you did with German tech after WW2.
Every nation/country has to start from somewhere. :P The U.S also stole alot from us when we were at our prime/ruling the world.:D Many people seem to forget all these facts. Its easier to make fun of others when you are ahead though, but not so much when you fall behind.:agree: So ill give that to the U.S which is still way ahead of any other country. But they should also know that they did the same thing China is now doing with us and Germany.:D

If you guys don't keep leading, who are we gonna copy

I have to give you credit. This is the first Super Honest post / admitting of copying US's tech from a Chinese member that I've seen. In fact, brutally honest but real.
So I guess we'll continue to lead and you can continue to copy 20 years after :enjoy:

if I'm not wrong,China didn't export any HALO drones(especially CH-4) to any country, nor did they took part in any International Exercises(are you talking about Pakistan,I think China offered them.no confirmation that Pakistan bought it).about fully operational, only China knows its status.but I heard that China confirmed it is inducted in service in 2014.

First, we exported a few to middle eastern countries with a few more in talks. We exported a previous version to Pakistan.

Second, it has participated in a few exercises, I can't remember the name of the previous ones, but the most recent is the Peace Mission 2014.

We also used it a few times in the dispute with Japan, "real" combat situation if you will.

about Rustam-2,it'll take some time before becoming fully operational.it made its Taxi trial few months ago and probably will make its first flight within months(actually,it is due.reports suggested that it'd take its first flight in June-July).

Initially I didn't want to comment at all, but quite a few comments, may or may not include yours, mentioned that it's 90s tech, and it isn't. It's using current tech, and not a lot of nations can do what we do.

don't compare us with China as you guys spend multiple times more for R&D and on military.but if you can choose techs comparable with Predator, choose this one..

specs are even better than CH-4.

Well don't compare us with US, their spending is way more than the difference between us. But we also have quite a few programs for drones, and we are inducting them at a record pace. Give us like 5 years when our spending reaches about 200 billion, then we can compare drones with the US, but right now, we are satisfied with getting close enough to their best.

Well man we also have a lot to boast about then.I don't wanna get started on it.My point is why ridicule China for copying when everyone has done it in past.Remember Honda and Toyota also initailly copied European designs and tech but see where they are today. And i have no illusion that even if china is copying but they are spending hell lot of amount on R&D so that will bear fruit.Innovation is the chinese mantra.Check the chinese mobiles they pack more innovation now and their quality has also leapfrogged immensely.China has Anti-satellite tech, they have hyper missiles, they have exo sphere jets and yet they are being ridiculed and by the way they can pulverise USA by just withdrawing their money from US treasuries.

you missed this line.............Although the sale hasn’t been officially acknowledged by either country

same kind of report suggests India operates few Predator Drones for quite some time now.but it is barely "Official".

the only mission where it is used is Peace Mission 2014,where China announced it has inducted it.

about CH-3 to Pakistan,Pakistan disagree.they say Burraq is locally made. :D

that was not a "US Weapon",but a UAE company made it.its true that USA is way ahead.thats why I said comparing a platform with 90s tech is quite futile when China is making UCAV.

I didn't post the pics to show India is on par of China, just because Genesis asked whether we've comparable tech or not.

Ok bro. Yes the Chinese still have that communist mentality of being too secretive with their arms deals. We dont even know the exact figures of China's arms exports, nor its companies arms/defence revenues etc (reason their defence companies dont figure in SIPRI top defence firms ranking, unlike India and other western countries). There are many things in their coutnry we just dont know about.:agree::disagree:
Will be interesting to see how Indias drone performs when it is unveiled/operational. When is it expected to be tested/operational?
Think India should speed up its R&D in drones, since its really lagging behind, From what i have read in a decade from now, the chinese will be leading the world in drone production. So will be interesting to see how things will play out in the coming years. Good luck to India:cheers:

India is nowhere near arms giant.but as per as we know,Rustam-II will be flight tested this year.in fact, the original schedule was in June-July,but I think that was rescheduled.

about India made drones, this is our first step towards MALE drones, especially one with conventional take off and landing.its predecessor,Rustom worked fine.and after Rustom-II,there will be Rustom-H,armed version of it.

and India is progressing towards UCAV.IUSAV(Indian Unmanned Strike Air Vehicle) project is too secretive and much info is not available on them.only frequent mentioning by some top level scientists is the only way of getting info.by the way,if everything goes fine,we'll probably test it around 2017.

Will be good to see an Indian UCAV by 2017. Glad to see India is also working on one. I appreciate when countries try and be self reliant/make efforts to do things themselves. Afterall, Only 4 countries have an operational UCAV at present. So its not an easy task. That's why i hate it when other laugh at another country's effort/hard work even more so when they themselves are lagging far behind. This is one field where China has taken a big lead in Asia. Will be interesting to see what they come up with in a decade or so from now.
Good luck to India for your coming MALE drone. Looking forward to see it.

Why are you making fun of your Japanese and Vietnamese allies? Japanese and Vietnamese farmers wear pointy hats, while Chinese farmers wear flat straw hats.
