US & Pakistan Dispute and Tensions over Haqqani group

"CIA created Haqqani network, says Malik"

I create a knife, you pick it up and use it to stab somebody. Why should you escape blame for attempted murder simply because I made the knife?

Friend or Enemy?

Important question -- and of course the answer depends on whether the US is a friend or a enemy.

Some say that the money US throws at Pakistan suggests the US is a friend -- perhaps and others say Pakistan could have stopped the enemies of US.

But US could have stopped the enemies of Pakistan and never did and the monies US tax payers hard earned monies indeed did little good for the ordinary persons, but the US is not to blame for that.

Pakistan fo rher part never understood that relations have to be institutionalized but when the only institution left in the country is the army, well, you know -- and Pakistan never understood what it wants from the US, or rather what it OUGHT to have wanted, instead of some vague military to military relationship.

Anyway, as long as Pakistan is not tied to the US in a military or security relationship, all will be good for both Pakistan and the US.

This is a bad analogy.

An inappropriate analogy - the Haqqani are no knife, they are a genuine interest group, as politically legitimate as any other in Afghanistan -- WHY did groups the US itself helped create, turn against it? US policy makers imagine these people are just on a on/off switch -- Pakistanis thought the same and they are suffering for it, why would the US escape the same??

The puppet government or elements in Pakistan may be friends or slaves of the US but the people of Pakistan don't see America as a friend. The public is not as stupid as the one you find in the USA who eat what grass is fed to them like sheep on holiday in the next field.

As for Israel, Pakistan doesn't even recognise this crusader entity and rightly so because it won't exist in 50 years time.

That is a very interesting point you raised, in that bold part.

It always matters what people of a nation think - in the countries where people are in control.

With Pakistan, it was never the case as democracy was never allowed to flourish and people were never in power. Not even now.

So we all stand witness what happened to the choice of people in two very important decisions taken by those who actually ruled Pakistan : -

1. The choice of the people was overruled, and resulted in division of Pakistan and creation of Bangladesh.

2. The people were not even aware of what was an atomic bomb and how it was going to help Pakistan, but the same people were indeed forced to eat grass for the sake of getting nukes.

So you see, it never really matters what people of Pakistan think. What matters is, whether the people understand who has been bought and who has not, by the Americans (They hold a PhD in buying people, remember that).

Didn't Pakistanis say the same thing 60 years ago? And in that time, hasn't Israel prospered and grown while Pakistan has stagnated and divided? Should other countries not "recognize" Pakistan for this reason?

What an analogy, deserve a kudos.

Does USA even know what the word "Friend" actually means ? Every Friend they had ended up being betrayed by them ( Iraq , Iran , Taliban, Pakistan ) . Whoever trusted USA was used & then thrown away.

What USA wanted from Pakistan was that we leave everything aside & start fighting a War that has no End, No Meaning , & No Enemy , We like other fools followed USA & finally realized that it was never a war against terrorism it was a Adventure that USA had to take for their own political benefits .

When we finally realized that & started asking question the only reply we got was " Do more " no explanation of their actions , no judgement on their crimes they came here to fight & yet we fought their battle , They never were at the front lines we were , They didn't even lost 1% of what we lost , The price we paid was far greater then the Prize we received .

USA attacked us , our Soldiers were lost, that attack was not from Taliban nor it was an suicide attack it was an attack from our ALLY who attacked a border post resulting in 21 causalities , and the explanation we got was that it was an misunderstanding & it will not happen again , Yet it did happen again & then again .

Now finally we have started to come to our senses and are realizing the true face of our ALLY , and now we can see that We never were ALLIES , we were betrayed by an Nation who is master of using others for their own benefit & then for forgetting them .

Pakistan & USA were & will never be Allies , since the injuries we have received are too grave to be forgotten that easily .

I was puzzled a bit, too, but Pakistani writers like Shuja Nawaz (brother to a former P.A. COAS) and Husain Haqqani (Pakistan's current ambassador to the U.S.) make it clear that while the U.S. supported and later funded such groups to annoy the Soviets, they were created and directed by Pakistan.

The U.S. did try creating some guerrilla groups during the 1980s Soviet-Afghan war but the Pakistanis, who controlled the logistics, generally steered weapons and supplies away from these. They were not starved completely because that would have meant losing U.S. support.

Guys just chill, USA started this media war against Pakistan as CIA and US army knows that they cannot win in Afghanistan and as you all know US public go by the media only and see/think what is shown to them via media .... so US is showing them that this is more important and UN General assembly membership of Palestine is off now from media ...

This is like creating a issue and make sure the actual issue is off from people minds ....

Pakistani need to understand the timing of all this and where this Palestine UN membership gone from the media now....

we are enemy and we should be enemy of USA because US enemies always more secure more happy and more sovereign then US allies .its bad to be enemy of US but its worse to be ally of USA .
