For 2nd decade of 21st century, the US Pak relationship are most important research topic for International relation Researchers in USA..International politics, like all politics, is a struggle for power.. US always look upon pak being she poor, USA man when comes into contact with the poor guys (Pak if compare to Japan) -- She already got confused. USA (as generally rich man in any society) has sort of an international rape mentality towards the East.

Why Pakistan Air Force will not be able to acquire the latest variant of the F-16 jet that it has operated for 33 years? For 33 years F-16 are the main jet of Pak Air-force against India(its still main jet of Pak), though she have developed JF-17 as new jet. Because USA are realising that Pak has few money compare to India therefore she might anonymously want to sacrifice US-Pak relations to win over India.
US would have chance to earn some money even the half one from pak by selling 30 new F-16. But she deliberately say no 2 Pak for reason to install F-16 Jet assembly line in India.

If Pak dont have F-16 jet there were chances India would buy 500 F-16 from USA in period of 1980 to 2016, that are what USA researchers are considering.

they never said no but asked pak to pay full price of all the jets.
@mkb95 @saiyan0321 Well yes that can be possibility that students of IR are picking pakistan and US relations.

USa knew well Pak has no much money to offer her, therefore she choose clever way to say no. Even USA could made huge money by selling these jet to Pak in few hundred million $ (though it was half money), that was what Pak has offered her.. What really cost to build F-16 jets to USA where already established facilities? All the alloy/plastic/iron/copper/glass/fabric used in jets are available at cost 10000 $ at max?, now even the Factory is closed, if they sold some jets to PAk they could made at least 1000 million dollar,

However. US did not refuse us the sale but toldnus to pay full price and we told US that we will not pay full price and if full price is the demand then we will look at other platforms. Infact this open defiance surprised US as we saw in the Congress that analysts made it clear to the congress that sanctioning pakistan would be counter productive since it is has become more rebellious and doesn't listen to US much.

That paragraph quite personally seems to be written by a five year old. I have seen articles and analyst point of views but never such a way an article was writen. Grammatical mistakes aside.

Anyhow although the US pak relations are under radar but the most interesting are the Russian american relations due to the massive coldness being witnessed right now.

John Smith??? na na, Johnny Lever it is, right? ;)

Pakistan would have bought a lot more if USA didn't put sanctions, and restrictions and hurdles and burdles and whatever the heck they could come up with against Pakistan. It would have been a very smooth ride if Pakistan would have acted as their colony from day 1, which Pakistan didn't, and which is why this relation has always been on a zig zag track. Once we got a taste of free and cheap stuff during cold war it was hard to pay more for the same thing we got for less, plus we already got enough of those ef solas. Now is time for Pak to learn to build, and that's exactly what JF-17 platform is doing, PA engineers are even working in Russian jet engine manufacturing plants. Just imagine when all that knowledge base will be put to work, well we can imagine it, you just drink some coffee and read that THICK tank, ooops, I mean Think Tank research paper ;)
