The FAA reported that while, thus far, there have been no reports of air protection systems or Manpads a few extremist or terrorist groups working there are suspected of getting access.

US aviation operator FAA on Thursday cautioned America’s airlines and their pilots there is risk involved with managing flights in Pakistan airspace because of”extremist or militant activity”, according to an official record.

Exercise caution during flight operations. There’s a threat to US civil aviation working in the territory and airspace of Pakistan because of extremist/militant action,” stated the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in a notice to airmen (NOTAM) dated December 30, 2019.

The NOTAM is appropriate to pilots that are US-based and most airlines.

The US regulator stated in its NOTAM there is still a threat to US civil aviation industry from strikes against aircraft and airports in Pakistan, especially for aircraft to the ground and aircraft operating at low altitudes, such as during the arrival and departure phases of flights.

The continuing presence of extremist/militant elements working in Pakistan introduces a continuing threat to US civil air out of small-arms fire, complicated attacks against divisions, indirect guns fire, and rapid-fire flame, some of which may happen with little if any warning,” it stated.

The FAA reported that while, thus far, there have been no reports of air protection systems or Manpads a few extremist or terrorist groups working there are suspected of getting access.

As a consequence, there’s a potential danger of extremists/militants to target civil aviation in Pakistan with Manpads,” it stated.

The regulator added that pilots or pilots need to report security or security events – that could happen in Pakistan – .

Its airspace final year opened following five months of constraints for India.

Final year Adhering to the airstrikes from the Indian Air Force, Pakistan had shut its airspace on February 26.

Pakistan in October last year had refused the petition to permit Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s VVIP flight to use its airspace because of his trip issue of India.

Americans know some things about to happen

You only need to connect the dots:
  • News that Brahmos batteries lined up at the border.
  • News that IAF may use Israeli Pilots
  • News that India has mobilised the units and removed the barriers.
  • News that Bipin has been given a newly created post
  • News that new Indian Chief has taken his seat
  • News that there is an attack on US Embassy in Iraq
  • News that Trump is mad as hell after the incident in Iraq
  • News that US defence secretary has said "enough is enough".

.
Pakistan should close its airspace for Indian flights - we don't want another MH370 style drama.
At least we are not the ones who invented and distribute Stingers ..
Didnt the Americans send this warning out aswell last time in Feb 2019 just before the Indians launched their failed operation in Balakot ?

The US is trying to jeopardise Pakistani aviation industry. Probably for not lifting aerial sanctions on Hindu-extremist lead India.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • FAA said the air carriers could be a target of Pak extremist, militant groups
  • Exercise caution during flight operations, the statement read
  • The NOTAM is applicable to all US-based airlines and US-based pilots

The United States has warned its air carriers to avoid Pakistani airspace citing the probable threat of attacks on its airlines. In a statement, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that the commercial and the state carriers could be a target of Pakistani extremist and militant groups.

The commercial and state carriers are "advised to exercise caution when flying into, out of, within, or over the territory and airspace of Pakistan due to extremist or militant activities" in the country. The NOTAM is applicable to all US-based airlines and US-based pilots.

The US regulator said in its NOTAM that there continues to be a risk to US civil aviation sector from attacks against airports and aircraft in Pakistan, particularly for aircraft on the ground and aircraft operating at low altitudes, including during the arrival and departure phases of flights.
United States warns its air carriers to avoid Pakistan airspace, it may be a risk & possible threat of attacks on US airlines (commercial&US state carrier) by Pakistan extremist & militant groups.

"The ongoing presence of extremist/militant elements operating in Pakistan poses a continued risk to US civil aviation from small-arms fire, complex attacks against airports, indirect weapons fire, and anti-aircraft fire, any of which could occur with little or no warning," it said.

The FAA said that while, to date, there have been no reports of man-portable air defense systems or Manpads being used against the civil aviation sector in Pakistan, some extremist or militant groups operating there are suspected of having access to these Manpads.

"As a result, there is a potential risk for extremists/militants to target civil aviation in Pakistan with Manpads," it said.

The regulator added that pilots or airlines must report safety or security incidents - which may happen in Pakistan - to the FAA.

The development has come two days after several thousand protesters attacked the United States embassy in Baghdad in retaliation to the US airstrikes that killed more than two dozen pro-Iran fighters.

A stream of men in military fatigues, as well as some women, marched through checkpoints that usually restrict access to Baghdad's high-security Green Zone.

They waved flags in support of the Hashed al-Shaabi, a network of armed groups which has been largely incorporated into the security forces.

On Sunday, at least 25 fighters from a hardline Hashed faction known as Kataeb Hezbollah (Hezbollah Brigades) were killed in US airstrikes on a base in western Iraq. The strikes were in response to escalating rocket attacks on Iraqi bases where the United States' forces are deployed.

After the protesters stormed the US embassy, the US security forces inside the compound of the building fired tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the crowds, which had ignored calls over megaphones to back away from the embassy.
