US okays sale of 8 Global Response Cutters to Pakistan

. . .
Where are the funds coming from for his purchase? I am sure cheaper alternative was available.

Feel like there will kickbacks.
I'm sure the U.S taxpayer is paying for it. meanwhile 9% of Pakistanis view the U.S favorably :hitwall: why do we still bother

Because it is that 9% that matters, and has the other 91% in control. Seriously, do you want another Iran?

One reason why they are expensive and one reason why these are needed is because they are made of Fibreglass. Hence they are much less prone to corrosion and damage that plagues all PN vessels due to the high level of pollution in Karachi Harbour

If fiber glass is only special thing in those gun boats then China could have made those for us, they are too expensive $40 million a piece means you can buy basic version of a fighter jet like Mig-29, F-16, J-10 and those are really advance then a patrol boat made of fiber glass.

Not exactly. These boats are not easy to form and are much more durable than any Chinese counterpart. They are also well suited for the sea and coastal conditions prevailing in Pakistan.

you mean world largest manufacturer of ships can't build those boats?? even if that is true, is US the only country in the world who make this type of gun boats? how about Turkish MRTPs?

Because the same damn mistake that was made with Iran is being made here. Instead of taking to the people, the reliance is on tin-pot dictators and rulers who much like the Shah have their women bathe in milk while the rest of the public bleeds. The US Taxpayer has been unjustly robbed of their input which never reached the people and instead ended up lining the pockets of politicians and military brass alike.

Just like Iran, all was hugs and kisses with the top guys while all the people on the ground see is the devil preached by the Mullah. Because they have very little proof of the countless US activities that benefit them. As there are no Americans on the ground, no counter-"Mullahs" to tell them otherwise.. The US will remain the great-Israeli backed devil and at the end US Tax dollars only buy so much compliance with US Govt interests. The worst that can be done is abandonment, since that will permanently break off any possibility of a US return(should it need to re-enter the region). What is needed is a simple drawdown. let Pakistan go into the Russian-Chinese Camp for good, but let Pakistanis come in and on the fullbright(after serious background checks to ensure the nutters like the NYC car bomb character at kept from ever entering the US)... let them stay if they wish and go if they do.. let them contribute to the US economy and relations.

In the meantime, keep droning the shit out of the taliban because regardless of civilian casualties, it is NOW doing good.

Senor,

You learnt nothing from 9/11----. Actually Pakistan is more important to the u s now than before----.

Like Oscar put it----you have not marketed yourself to the Pakistani public with equal fervor as the mullah has.

On all your TV programs you do not have a single Pakistani coming on to present Pakistani position over the issues. You are only getting a prejudiced one sided view and that will create problems for you.

because what matters is the relationship Pakistan military since the 1950s.
thank goodness the worse and most useless general of our history has finally retired now and replaced with Gen Ashfaq who ordered the operation that should have happened about 10 years ago.
