there was a cold-blooded murder 3 houses up from mine....bad guy broke into the house, robbery went bad as the lady (a professor at a respected univ. in DC) put up resistance

he steals her jeep, and is caught less than a day later because of an automated license plate reader that independently read and notified the police of the vehicles location

in the case where militants steal privately owned cars and use them for attacks it would make sense for cities like Isloo/Pindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi and other large cities to have such a system. Of course militants can easily use counterfeit tags; i still think we need a system like this in Pakistani cities. MOST importantly, there needs to be improved inter-provincial cooperation among the police and law enforcement agencies

Thers huge amount of work going on in Pakistan both in Govt/Private Engineering Uni regarding Car number plates having RFIDs due to which they can be tracked...!
Already there are services like Car Theft Prevention which use simillar stuf to track vehicals..!!!

well yeah, they have lo-jack and other devices

if we can't stop suicide bomber once he is in the vicinity of his intended target, least we can do is buy ourselves ''more time''

time is of the essence, lives can be saved. Until we can find a sustainable political solution with concrete action that would deter young pawns from carrying out their ''ustads'' orders and exploding themselves ---we need to take action that involves technology to track down suspects and their movements

plz educate me more on the RFIDs and the initiatives being done locally, i know little about it

Damn i don't know if to laugh or cry after reading all these articles about U.S. aid - aid - aid - aid .....7.5 aid to Pakistan in next five years announced last year (no $ seens yet)....2bn$ aid to militry which (if only IF congress will aprove it then maybe) we will get it starting from 2015, earth quake aid...no money since now. And on the other hand they attached all those strings and Pakistan already start obaying them....do more do more! Hell it's we pakistanis who are suffring bcz of these wars not those americans who are living thousand miles away, whom even don't know whats going on in South Asia! i think it's enough now....there is a limit to every thing and we have already cross that limit. How much we have to suffer again? how much blood we have to shed? how many lifes we have to loose? how much our economy have to pay?...if our politicians don't have balls or don't have a good strategy then why are they still there....we must remove them and send them straight to hell!!! at least one satisfaction for the nation!

Good News for Pakistan army as much needed spares and equipment will be provided by US, others are just rants, Pakistan army is in dire needs for supplies, and this provides them all they need.
