US needs to focus on Bangladesh to counter China: Analysis

ok amreeka has truly blown its brains out of its bunghole! they could not counter China thru india, they'll counter China thru Bangladesh??? what are they smoking? Bangladesh would never tick off China in a million years they have no reason to... China and Bangladesh have always had very good relations, I mean...has washington injected itself with heroine?!?!?!

No US is not stupid.
BD is very angry with China over Rohingya.
Remember BD is forecast to grow very fast till at least 2030.
US just wants to make sure that BD is no longer pro-China as without BD as an ally, Chinese dreams to dominate Asia become even more fanciful.

There's nothing special about Bangaldesh that the US wants to use it as a counter to China.

The main player for the US for that purpose is India.

The others include Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Phillipines, Australia.

Obviously US efforts have met with various degrees of success. i.e. Duerte in the Phillipines

Bangladesh is obviously a lesser fish but a fish nonetheless.

Personally, I am for greater engagement with US.

I think BD needs to balance China and the US for her own needs.

Which btw aren't that many.

BD is as benign a country as can be.

Chinese - I didn't say we wanted to rule Asia.

Only US wants to contain China. They need to maintain global hegemony.
India misunderstood its power.
Japan's focus is on territorial disputes with Russia.
SK needs to solve the contradiction with NK and Japan.
Australia...

OMG, why do SK,VN,PH and Australia appear on your list???

Chinese Defense Ministry — Australia may overestimate its national strength.

Finally, don't get too involved in "things discussed at this table"

"Pivot to the Pacific" by Obama.

There's a reason the US is now open to selling weapons to Vietnam.

To be honest, I don't see any threat from India, Japan or even Australia to China.

Many things you don't understand, because your national strategy is not in that position.

If you are happy to become a pawn of others. then challenge a powerful country. this is irrational. In the end, you will destroy your country... Because no one will pay for you. Refer to Ukraine, Georgia.

Worse still, you may be betrayed. When you think two powerful countries are in conflict. But in fact they have reconciled secretly. and you are 'fighting'.

.... a pawn was abandoned by the owner. Guess what is the consequence of it? Tell me - will the two powers fight because of a pawn?

A lot of things are not as good as you think.

BD has no wish to become a pawn of US.

If BD can get some benefits by keeping distance from China(which it would have done anyway) then all good.

US would have somewhat lost confidence in India as it cannot even impose it's will on much smaller Pakistan.

What is special about BD is that it used to be very pro China, and also is a large(population wise) and ethnically homogenous fast growing economy.

BD just needs to keep a distance from China and that is the US probably wants.

The way things are going on trade war, etc., it seems the USA has almost bottled up China in its own boundary. The US is hegemonist but generally speaking, it worked well to keep peace in many of the regions after WWll. The USA will certainly not allow China to break out of that order.

Your neighbors Japan and most of the countries of Asia are worried about China spreading its wings too wide to engulf them at a certain point. EU is also another group of countries supported by the USA.

By the way, have you gone through any Japanese policy measures of countering Chinese extension of credits in the infrastructures (Public Works) of the developing countries? Japan has already adopted such a policy and is working hard to get orders for about $270 billion worth of such Projects throughout the 3rd world countries by 2023 that it would finance and would be implemented by the Japanese civil engineering companies.

This is how Japan will counter China in Asian and African countries.

Trade With Americans. they are very good at it. You will benefit the most. They will open their Market for your Exports. But stay away from American Influence Zone if you have nay love for your country.

Welcome to anti China club!

BD shall send capital warships into the SC sea. How’s about staging some nice naval excises with Vietnamese submarine fleet? No worry of Chinese warships. Your ships will receive missile umbrella of Vietnam coastal defense.

:D

With the advent of trade war.

China reached the peak of the trade surplus with US.
Tesla has the largest factory in China.
U.S. government went bankrupt.
The stock market plunged.
btw, the US has trade conflicts with EU, Canada, Japan, etc. almost bottled up China? It seems to be wishful thinking.

and if you want to talk about peace, don't forget them. —— Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Grenada, Egypt, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Haiti, Panama, Dominica, Nicaragua, Iraq, Libya, Syria...... and Iran, Venezuela.

Give it up. you are not fit to talk about "most countries". I will not discuss CPEC and AIIB here.

I'm so sorry. China's investment in the world is not against Japan. Of course, not against any country. It just seeks economic development. Not politics.

Must I provide a link list?? You know I can do it. :-)

If a country's priority policy is confrontation and fighting, how does it develop the country? Sorry, I don't understand.

Now you know that Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines still import Chinese weapons.

Congratulations. At least you know something.

BN will surely send it's next gen frigates next decade to exercise with VN, soon after they come into service.

Even though BD no longer has any trust in China. it is unlikely to join the US in any anti-Chinese alliance in Asia.

.
Soon the US will run out of countries in the region that can act as a counter to China.. who is next..? Nepal? Lmao
