US/NATO accused of War Crimes

Their is a huge difference. The use of ISAF in the title suggests that all ISAF forces are involved in these crimes, when it's only US-NATO forces.

You do reliaze that not all countries in ISAF are U.S-NATO forces correct?

Australia is in ISAF and is not a NATO forces, so i take offence to the title which implies my country is involved in all of this. I am sure other people from non nato ISAF countries would be offended too.

If you think US-NATO forces are quilty of war crimes ,please pressurize your MP's (Government) to withdraw your forces from Afghanistan.

Why you dont have objection on your forces working under cammand and control of US-NATO?

Indirectly your forces are also quilty for war crimes.

I would be glad to engage in a discussion with you, but until you change the thread title i will not.

Australia soldiers have not commited any war crimes in Afghanastan, nor has many other ISAF countries.

Flame alert!:flame:

The thread is in the wrong section. Fundamentalist is engaged in intentional flaming to attract attention as best as possible.:disagree:

He knows better as he's been a member here for a long time. This section is reserved for events and operations taking place in Pakistan.

That's why this section is called "Pakistan's War".

Thanks.:usflag:

This is a WAR afterall , Warcrimes by the ISAF forces cannot be denied . But its also a cruel reality that warcrimes have been part of almost every theater of war ..! Be it Palestine, Be it the Kashmir , Be it the Iraq or Be it the Kosovo War ...! . PPL have to accept it ..! Unfortunately theres no such mechanism in World, that Warcriminals could be tried in courts or held accountable during an event of WAR .

Initially this section was for WOT , there is no section in PDF which is directly related to War in Afghanistan.

In fact "War in Pakistan" is objective of USA , their failure in Afghanistan is the root cause.

No other member has any objection only one member has objection about Title , which is clarified.

I know you are War Vatren , you have to face the realities of war crimes of your forces

Threads related to US activities in Afghanistan need to go in the US Foreign Affairs Section. It was meant to cover the Afghan and Iraq wars.

What about NATO in Afghanistan?

NATO , Australia and Turkey shall not be discussed under US affairs?

Hi,
a bomb in a car which is detonated by an alleged terrorist is an act of violence or Terror, but a bomb dropped on a civilian population by an American or its allies aircraft is not an act of terrorism since they can say after wards that there were terrorists. :azn: guys i have studied this Terrorism in different perspectives and believe me even the western writers acknowledge that the so called acts of collateral damage are also acts of terrorism my fellow Australian and Americans buds wanna agree with this or not its up to them, but face it that's the reality. Americans do engage in war crimes but since the "Might is Right" so no body wanna contest to that. have u people forgotten how Americans abused the detainees in Abu gharib jail, please don't say its irrelevant because its very much relevant its all a matter of biased perception that prevails in so called societies who are the protagonists of Democracy.

Intent does matter - if the US military or Pakistani military attack a house which they believe to be a terrorist training camp or hideout, but it ends up killing only women and children (perhaps because the terrorists were away, or perhaps because of flawed intel), then those are unintentional civilian casualties.

If on the other hand the US/Pak military attack a house knowing in advance that it only has innocents in it, then that is a war crime and deliberate killing of civilians IMO.

The various suicide bombings by the Taliban go into the latter category - the thousands of innocent men, women and children killed by Taliban and Al Qaeda suicide bombings in marketplaces etc. are killed intentionally by these terrorists to spread terror, chaos and anarchy to force the State from acting against them and to possibly bring the State down so that the Taliban and AQ can take over.

Agreed , that is reason 300000 American vateran (Afghanistan and Iraq) suffered from PTSD symptems.

that's an economic and social rights report it says nothing about war crimes.

Since its establishment on June 6, 2002, the AIHRC has received about 13,581
complaints as part of its human rights protection, out of which it has addressed 12,752
complaints. Additionally, the AIHRC has received over 130 human rights-related
complaints
against North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)-led International Security
Assistance Force (ISAF), which have been addressed.

.

I looked into AIHRC link again and there is no such a thing to suggest what you claim. i dont ask you anymore.

let me say somethng to you what is war crime and what is not: The taliban both in Pakistan and AFghanistan dont wear military uniform and they use the ordinary people's cloths, they hide among the civilians and in people's houses and fire on the afghan and pakistani army, now if pakistani army and afghan/nato army fires back on those positions there will be maximum chance of civilian casualty. on the other hand, pakistani army, afghan army and nato have all got uniforms and are recognizble from miles and miles, now if the taliban miss these obviouse and big targets and kill the civilians instead, then it is nothing but delibarete targetting of the civilians by the taliban. the taliban have killed dozens of school children in their single attack and you dont call it crime against humanity?

It still says nothing about war crimes. And your claims in the other thread about 98% of civilian casualties are caused by ISAF is way off as well. you seem to like to quote AIHRC but then provide no direct link to them actually saying what you attribute to them. Instead you link blogs and news articles based on supposed quotes by AIHRC. Then when a person goes to the AIHRC web site there is no such report or article.

You still have not responded to the AIHRC report I posted. That would seem to contradict your assertion that 98% of civilian casualties is caused by ISAF.

Insurgent Abuses against Afghan Civilians

"The AIHRC has documented cases of widespread and systematic intimidation, abductions, shootings, beheadings, hangings, mutilations, perfidious suicide attacks, and indiscriminate rockets attacks by insurgents against civilians around the country and especially in the southern, southeastern, eastern and central regions of Afghanistan over the past two years. Media reports and other sources have corroborated many of the testimonies included in this report and have reported on many additional cases in these and other regions."
