The U.S. military has quietly developed and deployed a new operational capability in the Indo-Pacific region to detect and track hypersonic weapons, repurposing existing sensors and command and control systems to display tracks of ultra-fast maneuvering vehicles -- such as those being fielded in increasing numbers by China -- in a development that sheds new light on Pentagon efforts to improve missile warning and missile defense missions. The previously unreported capability, called Defense Against Hypersonic Weapons in the Pacific, has...

If the US can track Chinese hypersonic weapons, then it has the capability to shoot it down. Tracking is the hard part.

Seems like the best of US capabilities is focused on the Pacific rather than the middle east.

That is what I called critical thinking.
The success rate of intercepting any supersonic missiles is already very low.

That is why USN wanted to station its SSBN under the South China Sea to reduce the time frame of its first strike capability and China has prempts them by militarising those islands and installing SOSUS there.

More like another PSYOP used by US Pentagon.

US has secretly gained the capability to turn the incoming missile back towards China...

A good one.

:sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic:

And next USA accused China of stealing and copying these systems and selling them dirt cheap to defenseless 3rd Worlds rendering all missiles useless.

True or not it will be like one of the missile detection system from the early 60s, which just detects but can’t do a thing to hit those type of missiles. Also hypersonic weapons can be improved.

doubt that very much

US has 48 x BMD Capable DDG

how many China have ? Zero

how many AEGIS China have ? Zero

its like when I asked the Chinese fanboy about Chinese SSBN how many tests they have done US + UK have done over 178th Trident tests

he said China doesn't need to do any because its already not a validated system

hence why China never conducted a nuclear deterrence patrol

Which can’t attack hypersonic missiles wow are you really part of the think tank.

Use what to shoot it down? All your defence weapons are slower in speed than hypersonic missiles. You can't catch someone that runs faster than you.

Look, there's another new weapon, new strategy from the US that's going to give the decisive victory. Amazing the Americans are constantly showing us their new toys and plans on how to beat China. Unfortunately US Admirals, RAND, honest analysts all say the US gets its assssss kicked by the Chinese. But @F-22Raptor do keep it up with posting brilliant articles just for the laugh.

Tracking hypersonic and ballistic missiles was never the hard part due to infrared signature make it apart from anything else.

The hard part is taking it down as unlike a ballistic missile it has unpredictable path so difficult / impossible for interceptor to reach at the interception area in time

You must be deluded. LeGenD already post report by DoD reporting the status of operation of China SSBN and their JL-3 missile. It's you as a fanboy refuses to take those report and keep repeat the debunk post to delude yourself about China not able to strike US with nuke.

China has 5-6 operation SSBN. If u think they are doing nothing. I am not going to stop u. End of the day, no countries like to reveal too much about about SSBN patrol as they are top secret deterent.

Did you see him post the blueprint on how and what and where it is?

This may be a difficult concept for many to follow, but a part of military strategy is being open and public of one's capability to ensure there is no misunderstanding by the enemy, while also serving as a warning of its capabilities.

China as an example use to keep its military infrastructure and assets (like missiles), testing, deployment secret - BUT after we warned them that it could lead to misunderstanding and perhaps a resulting action by the US, they quickly got it and shared being a lot more open.

who says we get our asses kicked by the tinpot military you have? if someone comments about an advantage you have in 1% of some area, that does not mean you kick our asses. You Chinese PDf'ers here must have graduated from the University of Baghdad Bob
