I think of the CCP as a whole new beast, honestly the world has never seen this kind of country before. Nationalistic, politically Communist, economically a market economy with a powerful private economy combined with huge state corporations, a technocratic bureaucracy, highly educated younger population, mercantile superpower with an increasingly powerful military.

Considering how fast they've come in ten years, I can't even imagine how the next 10-20 years will look.

The Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) lasted only 89 years, while the Qing Dynasty(1636-1912) was the only ethnic minority dynasty that really had an impact on Chinese civilization.
The Qing Dynasty continued the political foundation of the Ming Dynasty, it also relied on the landlord class to exercise feudal rule over the huge land. This weakened the resistance will of the Han people and was beneficial to maintaining the rule of the Manchu, but it also led to the demise of the Qing Dynasty.
The Qing Dynasty inherited the feudal system of the Ming Dynasty and developed it to its peak. This brought two important effects. First, the Qing Dynasty was the first dynasty in Chinese history to exercise lasting and effective rule over Tibet, Xinjiang and Mongolia. This has laid a solid foundation for the territory of PRC. Yes, that's early Qing Dynasty that clear almost all Mongols (only a few left alive) rendering the Mongols from one of the Superpower in Eurasia at that time to be empty land like today, and they also very success in integrating the Manchurian people well into Han Society.
