I am elect. engineer know better then you how these toys works, but wars won by better strategy not only by more soliders and suprior weapons. How we defeated india in 1965?

It is not my saying ,British army and NATO cammanders are saying that .

I never said that ,any proof?

Talaban have their own schooling system ,which produce better persons for society and better fighters then british schooling system and royal academies which produced Gen Yahya and Gen Niazi etc.
I never favoured distruction of holy places of non muslims.

.

Your general knowledge is week general .Muslim developed chemistory, mathematics, physics, astronomy.Western scientist actually borrowed knowledge from muslims research. You should be proud of it.
In talaban madrasah salabus all these books are available in arabic and part of their course .

I never claimed that i am perfect .

I am graduated from uet lahore.it is more difficult to trap or decieve scientist brain then simple arts graduate.

You can check statistics, what is choice of students have high IQ.:coffee:

Well point one.........I am a physics and electronics graduate So i think it is fair to say I know how those devices work too. In addition I have used these "toys" so I guess I will have to say i know a hell of a lot more than you sunshine.

Please don' talk about "Strategy" like you know what it means. 1965 was fought using the technology of modern jets and armoured vehicles amongst others "strategy" doesn't defeat modern weapons on its own.

Point two....go back and READ the whole article and check what else was said rather than rely upon the soundbite of the title.

Point three since you are a vocal advocate of the Taliban I am assuming you support them in everything they do. Including destroying girls schools and harvesting poppies for funds.

Point four Only the king of morons would say that the Taliban created a good schooling system. If they create fools who blow themsleves up then I would say they are not too bright. And if you hold up Taliban Afghanistan as a beacon of civilisation then you are warped.

Point five I am not weak in general knowledge I was merely adding a point for you to understand and typically it went over your head (ever considered a career as a limbo dancer?)Name a mathematical theorem that has come out of a madrassa? or even a new scientific theory.....please do share. And as a engineer please tell me where the majority of the lessons you learned came from. Now tell how many of the formulae were found by madrassa students.
Frankly your claim to be a engineer is on shaky ground here....
Frankly people such as you have held back the Muslim world with your medieval thinking. and I would spend some time taking apart your lack of "general knowledge" but i have to go to work in a minute.

point six No you did not claim to be perfect but you act like you are, hence my contempt for you posts.

point seven If you are a example of a UET Lahore graduate then I am not very impressed with UET Lahore. You are not a scientist (if you really did graduate) because you have come out with some retarded comments about science.

Point eight Arts degree? are you talking to me? Surely not! I have a degree in physics! I will happily talk maths with you if you want.....
Frankly I doubt all your claims Mr "scientist" frankly you should go and start a car wash business I am sure you'd be great at it!

Apologies for my late reply.

Please note, a large proprtion of foreign forces in the areas are 'special forces' or their near equivalents....i.e. Royal marine commandos, Paras, and US equivalent forces. Despite this, they have not done as good as one expects. Look on the BBC website about the response given by Brit forces in Helmand Province.

What you have written here is not true in any sense of the word. There are of course Elite units within Afghanistan. (AS they would be in any conflict) But there are units such as the Anglicans/ the Rifles /Scottish regiments. In fact a large proportion of said units is made up of reservists. So it is not a special forces battle out there. Thats the simple fact of it. Most of the forces are part time soldiers.

The next part you have quoted is the "harrowing tales" as written by the journalists who are trying to make a good story for their leadership. After all hearing how easy or boring a tour in Afghanistan is hardly makes good copy.Actually most of the soldiers leave because of the time they have to spend away from their families than any other reason.

Also take some time to look at the cold hard numbers 125 Uk casualties over 7 years. Thats less than the Northern Ireland troubles. And the UK didn't give up then either. The majority of causalities have been caused by IED's and poor choice of vehicles. However the newer designs such as the mastiff and other types would cut this down to almost nothing.

Oh and a few segments you didn't highlight in the article.

“We’ve taken the sting out of the Taliban for 2008,” he said. “As autumn turns to winter those who are foreign will return home and restore themselves and only reappear after the poppy harvest in May or June.”

Lamont at first operated from a Wimik, an armed Land Rover, but near the end of the tour he was equipped with one of the new Jackals, a much better protected vehicle.

“Our casualty figures have been substantial but they have to be kept in context,” he says. “We may in the course of 2008 have in the region of 50 fatalities in Helmand, but in 1972 more than 100 British soldiers were killed in Northern Ireland, on our own streets.”

He insists that time is on the side of the Afghan government. “The young people want betterment of their lives. What the Taliban can’t do is deliver progress and development. As long as the international community can stay the course, over time the Afghan government capacity will grow.”

What foreign forces must now come to grips with, he said, is reducing the level of insurgency so that it can be managed by Afghan forces and no longer poses a major threat.

Flying out through the dustbowl that is Camp Bastion, and watching all the building going on below, it seems the British Army is digging itself in for a very long campaign.

You see you haven't posted anything of substance and merely highlighted sections you like the look of whilst forgetting to read the other parts.

Strategic to tactical level huh? Do share because I know when I hear crap.

Keys.....looking at the various comments made....it seems that you seem irritated and seem to show a bit of arrogance with various comments (such as warraich etc): Just to clarify....I condemn any form of terrorist incidents and any extreme radical groups whatsoever......

(1) Despite the amount of resources spent on the war on terror - i.e Iraq and Afghanistan.....the results have been extremely poor.....I say that...because PEACE has not been achieved in the areas.......the insurgent groups are still causing havoc despite being ill equiped compared to US/ISAF/UK etc Forces....the war on terror (WOT) is 7 years+....and still ongoing....no sign of a breakthrough on a global scale.

(2) The only way to achieve peace and security in the region is to address the reasons and causes of terrorism/insurgencies. Despite the destruction caused by a SMALL GROUP of terrorist in the USA...the overall response has been a knee-jerk reaction (which has resulted in more terrorist groups springing up). This Knee-jerk reaction led to STATE TERRORISM in various countries....over 1 million innocent people lost their lives in Iraq and many hundreds of thousands in Afghanistan and also other regions/Sudan/Somalia etc.

(3) A terrorist is still a Terrorist whether he is an individual or whether it is a State/nation. Hence the phrase "one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter".

(4) I have high regard for the training of forces such as the UK/US...especially the UK...I've served on Op Telic 1....but despite the excellent training given.....the results are not impressive. Fire fighting with lightly equipped taliban forces and using helicopter/ air bourne forces with a strike package available.....they should have been defeated a long way ago.

(5) A lesson that most nations forget....in fact not many people learn from history......Afghanistan has shown us that: It is the most easiest country to invade (it took the Russians 24-72 hours to capture Afghanistan) BUT THE MOST HARDEST TO GET OUT. It took many years from the Russians to leave. Western forces are projected to stay in this area for another 15+ years.....

(6) the WOT has resulted in much global instability in key regions....unless western forces take appropriate action......initiate peace (the UK government did with the IRA) and help the region (without malice or ill intention)...then the WOT WILL EAT ALOT OF LIMITED RESOURCES>>>>hence...UK forces not provided with the right equipment due to budget constraints and excessive cost of the WOT.

(7) I do not know what field you are in.....but it seems that on this forum....those that have seen a bit of action...seem to condemn others as arm chair generals......my point is....a word of advise.....sometimes those personnel that are serving...only see from INSIDE the BOX.....and could be helped by those observing from OUTSIDE the Box......get my drift......It is good to get views from all angles.:agree:

(8) I'm not able to disclose much information....my field is in a select area.....I have regular updates and brief occassionally.....and as I said...it's not a rosy picture.

(9) Great nations have come and gone.....if you look at history....the end of these great nations was due to their ARROGANCE and PRIDE.

Overall, I'm hoping that peace and security is incorporated in the unstable regions of the world. I hope that the designs of destabilising Pakistan do not succeed. I also pray that GOD Allmighty makes us better human beings/Muslims and serve his creation to the best of our abilities.........:pdf:

hey Keysersoze!
do you think the Russians will get involved in Afghan? or Maybe the Chinese?
Let me tell you one thing man i do agree with your posts but you cant eradicate the forighn hands involved in Afghanistan.
Lets take a tour back in History
Us enterd Veitnaam . Russians Funded Veitenaam , provided them wepons to fight the US. In the End US got defeated in Veitnaam.
Now you do have to agree History repeats it self only the players differ people...
Russians Attacked Afghanistan For the same God Dam purpose of aquiring a strategick position in Central Asian Reagions and controlling the warm waters.
US was waiting to get vengence ..
so they created Taliban in Afghanistan . Provided them money and latest high tech weapons . And Believe me i have seen with my own eys those Talibans loading stinger missiles on their mules in PARACHINAR and then taking them to AFGHANISTAN through the Kuram.
Russia got defeated and pulled out their troops out of Afghanistan.
when the soviat union collapsed US threw Pakistan and Taliban in its backyard untill....9-11.
In return of helping US ,,, US imposed various sanctions on Pakistan in the decade of 1990
Now Russia in these days have earned alot of wealth with the help of its CASPIAN OIL... In Other Words they are earning Billions of PETRO Dollars...
Now after 9-11 US attacked Afghanistan ...
and this time people it were the Russians who were waiting for their Vengance ..
Iran joined Hands with Russians in the enimity of US
And INDIA SEEKED the most valuable chance of destablizing PAKISTAN

Now acording to my most trusted sources Russian planes carry high tech wepons from Russia and land somewhere in IRAN . From their these weapons are transported to Pakistani border through Iranian Logisticks . From their these weapons are transported to millitants in miransha and waziristan which helps them in their crossborder raids....

This War on terror is BullS**t. We are fighting a proxy war here. and the battle ground is Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Pakistan is a great Nation and no responcible individual here thinks of attacking US or even Russia but many people do have cocerns over the 5 INDIAN CONCELLATES in AFGHANISTAN which are respocible for fundin Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan which US believs is behind many cross border raids on their forces and many teror activities in Pakistan .

Now Only the time will tell who will win and who will loose this war.
And the most disgusting thing is this , many generations of people living in this reagion will get affected by the HORROS this war has brought.

God Bless Pakistan
And PLZ GOD BLESS THIS WORLD
and May God give us the vission to differentiate btw right and wrong, Good and Bad and help us to live in this world with peace and harmony so that we can make this world a better place for our generations to come.
Ameen

and one thing more Keysersoze

OK I am now bored of this...It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

You dont need to shoot the fish in barrel because
ITS BETTER THAT INNOCENCE SHOULD PREVAIL AMONG US. LET IT NURTURE ITSELF TO MATURITY AND I BELIEVE IT WILL....
ANYBODY
IF IM WRONG THEN CORRECT ME THROUGH ARGUMENTS SUPPORTED BY VALID LOGIC CAUZE ONLY THROUGH YOUR CORRECTION I MAY LEARN MORE ...
:pakistan:

LATER......
