Copy the referred youtube link and place it in the other link right above and watch the video in slow motion. Slow it down to 1/4 speed level and anybody should be able to see a second object (really DARK) moving towards the target on the right; this object collides with the target.
So we have two objects moving towards the same target; one is glowing in the image and the other is really dark. Glowing object might be the discarded component of the interceptor and really dark object might be the EKV.
