It's not really about whether or not China can take on anyone. It's about whether or not the Chinese want to spend that many life to try to achieve something that they may or may not be able to pull off.

You cannot fight a war without casualty, the issue here is whether or not China have the stomach to have that. These people here, again, most likely wouldn't be volunteering to do those kind of thing, their arse is safe, and when your arse is safe, you will talk big.
