The US has conveyed to India it has put in place an "effective oversight" and end-use monitoring system to ensure that security assistance given to Pakistan is used solely to combat terrorism.

In Februarfy, the US had proposed $860 million in aid for Pakistan, including $265 million for military hardware, which it said would help the country fight terrorists, secure nuclear weapons and improve ties with India.

The US has been giving financial aid to Pakistan, both for civil and military purposes from time to time.

"India has consistently conveyed its concerns and sensitivities to the US government regarding the US security assistance to Pakistan. The US government has conveyed that it has put in place effective oversight and end-use monitoring mechanisms to ensure that its security assistance to Pakistan is used solely for counter-terrorism related purposes," minister of state for external affairs VK Singh said while replying to a question in Lok Sabha.

Last month, the Obama administration had decided to sell eight F-16 fighter jets worth nearly $700 million to Pakistan. Reacting to the decision, India had said it will create "negative sentiment" in the India-US relationship.

Replying to a separate question, Singh said a total of 25,049 people of Indian origin died abroad since 2013. He said in 2013, a total of 7,433 people died while in 2014, it was 7,691 and in 2015, it was 8,312. In 2016, a total of 1,613 people of Indian origin have died.
To another query, he said 115 incidents of attacks, involving 276 Indian nationals, have been reported in 30 countries in last three years.

"As a result of these attacks, 57 Indian nationals lost their lives," the minister said.

US will continue to give india lollipops, unless india agrees to challenge china for US their is nothing US wants from india while Pakistan is already very crucial for US foriegn policy in middle east, central asia and south asia.
Pakistan is a strong ally of both groups middle east and china so that makes Pakistan at center of US foreign policy just like old times.

One thing if indians learn quickly will be better for them, that US is not Russia and they dont need indian money, US already have enough customers worldwide, so indian claims of this supa pawa economic pawa stuff will only work on Russia.

ok we have no problems

Musharraf admits US aid diverted

Mr Musharraf says he acted in the best interest of Pakistan
Former president Pervez Musharraf says the US military aid given to Pakistan during his tenure was used to strengthen defences against India.

The money was used to arm the troops who moved with their equipment from the western border to the east based on the perceived threats, he said.

The US gave $10bn dollars to Pakistan to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

In 2007, Pakistan rejected a report which said it had used $5bn on weapons systems designed to fight India.

Pakistan's military had described the New York Times report as "nonsense".

'Did right'

"Wherever there is a threat to Pakistan, we will use it [equipment provided by the US] there. If the threat comes from al-Qaeda or Taliban, it will be used there. If the threat comes from India, we will most surely use it there," Mr Musharraf told Pakistan's Express News television channel.

"There is nothing like this equipment has come from the US and must only be used against Taliban, or that equipment has come from China and must be used against this or that," he added.

Mr Musharraf confirmed that the weapons were indeed used against India.

"We did right. What we did, we did right. We have to ensure Pakistan's security. From whichever side the threat comes, we will use the entire force there."

Mr Musharraf said he did not care if this diversion of aid angered the US.

"Whoever wishes to be angry, let them be angry, why should we bother? We have to maintain our security, and the Americans should know, and the whole world should know that we won't compromise our security, and will use the equipment everywhere."

Meanwhile, India said Mr Musharraf's statement merely confirmed "what we have suspected over a long time and what we have suggested all along".

"We do not feel that such assistance should be turned around and used against us," news agency Reuters quoted India's junior external affairs minister Shashi Tharoor as saying.

"We pose no threat to Pakistan and we find that this kind of diversion is neither in the interest of the sub continent nor of those who are giving this assistance."

This is the first time Pakistan has admitted to diverting the US aid to strengthen its defences against India.

In the past, Pakistan's army has dismissed claims that aid from the US had been misappropriated.

ok a big LOL

Monitoring, and nothing more. If a war breaks out, there is little the US can do to stop Pakistan from using these weapons against India, outside of helping India by giving them inside knowledge, which I doubt they'll ever do.

That is because US also knows that INDIA itself supports TERRORIST organizations like TTP and BLA from its bases in Afghanistan.
