US Gov't announces sanctions against Pakistani entities related to Missile program

The game is still on. Taliban control more territory than ever before and are bidding their time. Ghani is nothing more than the Mayor of Kabul. After spending 100s of billions of dollars Americans have lost and they know it. In the meantime we also received billions of dollars from the American but protected our interest. That is why the Americans are so mad at us but they cannot do much about it. These sanctions are useless and we can do without their aid.
All of Talibans strategic offensives have failed this year and their losses have been far higher than ANSF.

Actually your interests have been totally defeated in Afghanistan, from a pro Pakistani taliba gov't now you have an hostile govt.
Several anti Pakistani insurgents are now based in Afghanistan.

You have quite the habit of making things up and posting them as quick as possible. Your post is utter nonsense. Here is the real story from just over a month ago, winter has set in so combat has died down.

U.S.-trained Afghan commandos and U.S. Special Forces are bearing the brunt of efforts to prevent the Taliban from seizing major cities such as Kunduz. They face an increasingly dangerous foe that is threatening to overrun a substantial part of the country.

As many as six of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces are in danger of falling to the militants, according to Afghan and coalition officials. At least three provinces—Kunduz, Helmand and Farah—would probably have been lost already had it not been for the deployment of U.S. Special Forces to their capitals to support Afghan commandos with additional firepower and airstrikes, coalition officials say.

The U.S. military insists that Afghan forces are battling the Taliban to a stalemate

There is some good news here;

Afghan security forces have suffered some 15,000 casualties in the first eight months of the year, including more than 5,500 deaths, according to government figures. U.S. and Afghan officials say that Taliban deaths are even higher.

But again, these are Afghan government figures......

And it continues.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani expressed dismay at the disarray of his forces at a recent security conference in Kabul

It is, it shows they are trying to please us.
Or they currently have little to buy. No, it is not a measure of good relations.

China simply doesn't have India's influence in Nepal, in fact Nepal's economy is completely r India's control.
Just last week it was announced that India will supply another 240 mw to Nepal this increasing Nepal's dependence on India for power even more.
That is exactly why Nepal is moving towards China. It has seen what sort of damage can occur when it opposes India (blockade).

Just like how politicians in Pakistan accuse Nawaz Sharif of being a RAW agent. This is not evidence, but a way to discredit his opponents (the current government), as India is not welled liked in Sri Lanka.

[QuotePakistan can do very little to harm US but US can put Pakistan's survival and stability at stake[/QUOTE]
Do you actually read my comments, or are you just so stuck up your own ***, that you refuse to read other people's comments?

I already proved to you how that is completely wrong. Pakistan is becoming less and less dependent on the US. In fact, if current trends continue, Pakistan may become vastly independent within the next decade.

What is the best solution for Afghanistan?. Do you think few hundred university graduates and foreign disembarked leaders can control the whole country with raising the slogan of women right, when whole nation is bunch of illiterates tribes worshiper.

That is why in addition to Pakistan, the Russians, the Chinese and even the Shia Iranian are talking to them and calling for giving them legitimacy. Even the US tried to talk to them but could not meet their preconditions. The reason Taliban set very tough preconditions is that they know they have an upper hand. Causality rate in Afghan context is no measure of success simply because ANA and their western masters hardly leave the urban areas and their safe bunkers while Taliban control the country side and run a parallel government. Even the US and some Afghans get the reality. Only the Indians are still deluding themselves and in fact potentially contributing to more instability in Afghanistan which is potentially going give rise to ISIL type ideology and organizations.

Since Pakistan has already got totally unjustified sanctions, the response should be;
  • Support the groups in Afghanistan openly.
  • Block any NATO supply
  • Test an ICBM as soon as possible
These suggestions are only if a slight semblance of dignity and national honour still exists.

Pakistan and North Korea Nuclear and missile technology co operation is well known and this is the reason that United States have placed sanctions on Pakistan entities to stop the ICBM test.

Afghanistan is already facing the reality and are well aware with how many nations they are fighting .

A silver lining. Means we are on the right track. They can shove their sanctions up their well-laid azzes

:lol::lol: obama before he leaves office is gonna make sure he f#cks everything up! what sanctions and what enforcement of sanctions. Time to tighten the noose in afghanistan:taz::taz:

Obama leaves behind a legacy as a sore loser. He expelled 35 Russian diplomats blaming them for the abysmal failure of the democrats. Textbook case of sore loser

Actually Russia invited India but India did not want to attent a conference on IS as it believes IS threat to be exaggerated

On the other hand US did not invite Pakistan to this trilateral:

Is USA neighbors with Afghanistan? Is endia?

The real change will come through Pakistani, Russian, Chinese and hopefully Türkiye as well. Will clean up the abysmal mess and failure of ISAF - which invested hundreds of billions of dollars over the course of 15+ years with nothing to show for it!

On the other it us who refused.

Russian begging and whining to please India to save their ruined economy can be seen in the fact thatPutin mentioned India as a top priority of Russian foreign policy some days back.

Shaheen-III of particular concern; Trump to follow Obama defence policy on India
The United States government is increasingly worried over the rising range and variety of Islamabad’s missile capability and the recent decision of the Obama administration to impose trade restrictions on seven Pakistani entities came out of this concern, a source familiar with the developments told The Hindu.

The official announcement of the decision did not detail the reasons, but said there was “reasonable cause to believe, based on specific and articulable facts,” that these entities “have been involved in actions contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States”. All the entities are linked to Pakistan’s missile programme. With the addition of these seven, there are 47 Pakistani entities that are under strict watch of the U.S agencies.

Shaheen-III the reason

What has triggered the alarm bells in Washington is Shaheen-III, which has a range of 2,750 km. Pakistan has officially explained its longest-range missile to date, tested for the first time in 2015, as a capability to strike the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the farthest Indian territory from its shores. But the missile also has Israel in its range, along with several European countries – something that the U.S. strategic community finds unnerving. The entities put under trade restrictions by the U.S include the Islamabad-based National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), and its subsidiaries, Air Weapons Complex (AWC), Maritime Technology Complex (MTC) and New Auto Engineering (NAE).

Speaking at an event on nuclear security, Vice-President Joe Biden alluded to this concern on Wednesday. “Not just North Korea, but Russia, Pakistan, and others have made counterproductive moves that only increase the risk that nuclear weapons could be used in a regional conflict in Europe, South Asia, or East Asia. Working with Congress, the next administration will have to navigate these dangers and — I hope — continue leading the global consensus to reduce the role of nuclear weapons in our world.”

It will be ditto Obama here

The incoming administration will continue with the existing U.S. policies towards India, Pakistan and Asia in general, Defence Secretary-designate James Mattis indicated during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Forces Committee. He complemented Pakistan for its action against terror groups that operate within the country, adding that he would push for more effective targeting of groups that were aimed at neighbouring countries. This is in line with the Obama administration’s efforts in the region.

Mr. Mattis said he would “hesitate to use phrases such as “rebalance” or “pivot” as they imply that we are turning away from our commitments elsewhere,” but added that “China’s behavior has led countries in the region to look for stronger U.S. leadership. “If confirmed, I will examine ways to strengthen our allies and partners, while taking a careful look at our own military capabilities in the region,” he said.

Mr. Mattis also pledged to continue with the Obama policy of enhancing a long-term strategic relationship with India “based on the convergence of our interests and our shared democratic values.” “I note that the United States and India recently cemented India’s status as a Major Defence Partner. If confirmed, I would assess what particular areas in the bilateral security relationship I should focus on, and what steps can be taken to bolster the overall defence relationship.”

‘We will work with Pakistan’

Naming sanctuary and freedom of movement for the Afghan Taliban and associated militant networks inside Pakistani territory as “a key operational issue faced by the Afghan security force,” Mr. Mattis, who has commanded the U.S forces in Afghanistan, said he would work with Pakistan to improve the situation.

“Our relationship with Pakistan, including our military-to-military relationship, has had highs and lows. We have long faced a lack of trust within the Pakistani military and government about our goals in the region. If confirmed, I will work to build the trust that we need for an effective partnership,” he told the Senate Committee.

The highlighted part, from another point of view, in the end actually sums up all above as in easy words, nothing is permanent but statements for the time being", so let's see how actually Pakistan sees these developments.

LOL we will see what anyone can do. LOL at sanctions. These Americans are pathetic with their sanctions. They suddenly woke up and realized that Pakistan poses a threat years after we have produced and solidified our missile capability. Any country that poses a threat to Pakistan can become a target. If you attack us we will attack. We won't sit idle like Syria and Iraq because we are not Syria and Iraq. Simple. Our weapons aren't India centric.

Pakistan belongs in China Russia camp. Not in US India camp. There is no relation between the US and Pakistan.

LOL at Obama. Even Bush left the world in a better shape. Obama's legacy is an unstable world. He cried like a baby during his exit. Now we are all going to enjoy Trump turn America into a banana republic.

Chinese some days back hinted about helping Pakistani Missile programme . North Korean tests do explain alot .

http://www.deccanherald.com/content/591433/pak-made-counterproductive-moves-risking.html
US Vice President Joe Biden has singled out Pakistan along with Russia and North Korea and others for making "counterproductive" moves that only heightened the risk that nuclear weapons could be used in a regional conflict.

Biden said as North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities continue to expand, it poses a growing threat to international security and our own national defense. "That's why we've been so vigilant in keeping the international community united to raise the costs on North Korea for its flagrant violations of nuclear norms," he said.

Pakistani government should impose sanctions on US entities involved in drone strikes in Pakistan, hence no more cooperation with any of their defence forces.

N. Korea cannot be compared as Pakistan. Vice president, so what..... Chinese hinted when India promised Vietnam to sell them missile system. US did impose Pakistani Organization before that. Mentioned in short that these are different happenings. Sanctions have nothing to do with Chinese Hint but our independent missile program and among them, seems like US was aware of SLCM or more. Chinese statement was in response of India-Vietnam story that you are mixing like US sanctioned Pakistan due to India's concerns, which is incorrect though.

Still, as I said, let's see how things unfold and as the same article says, US will continue with Pakistan despite past sweet/bitter relations. Let's new administration take charge in D.C and see, where it leads and we are less worried this time about these sanctions.

I think removing these sanctions will be their way of incentivizing Pakistan's cooperation.

No doubt the Americans will come crawling. Pakistan needs to continue to strengthen its nuclear and missile delivery program. There is nothing to negotiate or talk in this regard.

The US is a country that has handed sensitive nuke tech to India on a silver platter against all norms and regulations. This country has no moral standing to tell others to curtail or abandon anything.
