This is actually a big step, you never know how good is a M113 until you are on one. God, it bring me back the good old days when I first trained with my 19C MOS....You need to qualified for M113 before you can drive a Bradley....(although today it's not a requirement anymore)....

But with the turretless Bradley winning the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle program that will replace the M113s, there is a chance that the US could transfer the M113s to allied countries.

I see this as opportunity for Indonesia to cooperate with PH and further develop our defence industry, by reaching friendly and prospective defence export market, such as Philippines. We know PH have the money, but spending those on expensive, new, US or European weapons will drain their budget. We have the advantages to support PH on supplying affordable and reliable weapons system. SSV & NC-212i is a good start.

I think we already did that we are building our SSV and our new light tactical transport in Indonesia

All we need is companies like FNSS for refurbishing i hope the GA send them invites to invest in the new project love to see Filipinos at less refurbishing armoured assets

Doubt that......The AMPV was purposed to produce 2400 of all variant of M113 replacement. However, as of 2015, the US Army have about 5600 M113 in service. A look of the project proposal, the AMPV are tasked to replace only 552 of M113A3 APC. Which the US Army still operating 3000+ of this variant....

My guess is, even tho this is what AMPV stated, they are not going to replace M113 on a 1 on 1 basis, and there will still be quite a large demand for M113 within the US Army themselves.

Think Philippine is better off getting wheeled platform such as Stryker or LAV III. That will give you a lot of mobility to deal with insurgency.

Depends on whether or not Philippine would train with tracked platform, it's quite dangerous for you guys to roll in tracked APC to deal with Insurgency in the north....

Hey Jhungary buddy, do you know or have any idea if the US will be exporting automated howitzers? I've noticed that the Philippine Army remains underequipped in this area. To be honest, I think that the JSDF should donate some of our Type 99 155 mm self propelled howitzers to them. Perhaps even 15-20 to start off.

Having any where between 5 of these units in each of their regional divisions would effectively boost their anti ground fire power and would effectively and accurately strike enemy sites (insurgency) quickly without having to expend unecessary infantry ground units. Just for mopping purposes only after pulverization doctrine is realized.

Have you read a history of Philippines' claim on those islands?
The first claim the Philippines ever made was after 1950. The treaty that establishes the area of Philippines between colonial powers, doesn't include those islands under Philippines territory, a reason why US defense treaty doesn't apply there.
