US general warns of ‘significant consequences’ for military if China takes control of key port in Af

. . . .
This is the world we live in. Those who spend 700 billion dollars annually on defence lecture others not to waste money on defence. Those who have the record of using nukes on civilians and posses thousands of WMDs threaten others for having one or two. The country which has hundreds of military bases across the globe becomes worried when China opens one in Africa. The most unfortunate thing is there is no shortage of people doing the bidding for that champion hypocrite. Thus the proverb goes dollar speaks when everything else fails.

Nothing fails and won’t fail in another 100 years. Suddenly some mad comes with yuan muscle to beat the established dollar along with active performing diplomatic channels is nothing but a drain on resources.

You blame Russia? China is doing just that.

Yup with all those and yet they are panicking...I wonder why?:rofl::rofl:. No worries bhai, chalta hai.:D

Your emoticons are an eyesore over your logic. Certainly not a Chinese trait for an established Pakistani dude.

Further showcasing Pentagon's sense of insecurity and paranoia, crying wolf where there is none.

Or things swung Singapore's way due to US intervention. The Singapore decision happened on the same day as the report before Congress. Djibouti had been arguing for weeks with Dubai.

As oppose to what? Is there any evidence Chinese companies are even in the running for the contract?

They already canceled a project with DP World and gave it to China.

"This year, Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh cancelled a longstanding contract with Dubai-based DP World for the administration of Djibouti's port and signed a contract with China instead."

Another fear mongering report as the Chinese Merchant Port Holding only acquired a 23.5% stake in the port in 2013. DP's contract in operating the port is effective throughout Djibouti's legal action against it since 2014 and has nothing to do with China. And the fact remains that Chinese companies are not in the bid to take over DP's share to warrant such fear mongering today.
