US formally backs Japan against Russia, considers Kuril islands as Japanese land

If Japan invades Russia then China and Korea invade Japan. So Japan also cannot afford to put 100% of its power into invading Russia. At most 20% tops.
Is this a troll post?
Or else, with this kind of lunacy ,it's no wonder Japanese is so much refined and revered than chinese.

There's no correlation with Japan invading russia and China invading Japan.
The concept of an invasion only occurs in evil imperialistic society now, only china acts akin to the concept of invasion atm in asia.
The only chance pompous Chinese has of invading Japan is by building a bridge of corpse with 1.4b people after it had been rendered wasteland with missile exchange.

Argentina took Falklands from Britain pretty easily but they still lost it again. Even if Japan takes Kuril islands, they can't keep it against Russian attack. Russia would constantly pump out ships and planes and tanks in European Russia and send them east to attack Kuril islands. Japan would have horrible losses just from defending Kuril islands from Russian attacks.

Actually size is a major disadvantage of Russia ... the size of the Russia was the same reason why Japan defeated the Russian Empire in 1905.

Back then it took Russian ships weeks to go from Baltic to Pacific. These days Russian bomber can fly from Moscow to Vladivostok in a matter of hours. This ain't the days of First Russia Japan war anymore. Tu-22M3M anti ship bombers can sink Japanese destroyers from 600+ km away.

You don't have to think so far ahead. US did jackshit when Russia invaded Crimea. They can't even take down fat boy Kim.

Straight from a military point of view, saving for the nukes, the Japanese navy don't have sufficient offensive firepower, and their airforce don't have much offensive firepower either, so they have very limited options against Russia.

However if the US is involved in such skirmish then things can change a lot, but then China may not stay idle, so thats will be a world war scale story.

In such scenario, China sure will side with Russia against Japan, the so-called Siberia and outer Manchuria have never ever been Han's land before, they were nomad's homeland, so only a few in China want to take that from Russia (not very realistic until we can find a way to defend nukes), but Japan is a totally different story, there is strong revenge-seeking feelings among many Chinese, and history has shown revenge-seeking feelings can last for decades if not more among Chinese, until an revenge is done.

So bascially China can side with anybody, as long as the goal is to sink japland.

No reason for the US do anything in Crimea. The Ukraine is not in NATO nor is there a defense pact.
No reason for the US to take down Kim. Kim is contained plus the US MIC gets to sell lots of arms to Japan and SK. Added benefit Japan and SK have additional arms against other potential threats.

Russia needs the Kurils to have access to the Pacific. Would be shocked if Russia let them go.

Your bombers aren't going to transport anything I'm afraid ... against a country like Japan with a formidable military, Russia will need a lot more supplies than even their transport air fleet is capable of delivering to the far east. And it seems you are operating under the assumption that Japan does not have an air force ... did you forget they have the F-35Bs?

This makes a lot of sense ... Japan occupies a couple of inhospitable rocks (i.e. Senkaku/Diaoyu islands) and China must pick a fight with them while the Russian empire annexed over 1.5 million square kilometers of Chinese territory. Really? Under your assumption of "never ever been Han's land before", then China should also give up Inner Mongolia, the rest of Manchuria, Tibet, and probably Xinjiang as well correct? Yes Japan did the most destruction to China over the past couple hundreds of years but just like Nazi Germany, it is in the past. Meanwhile, Russia still resides on land belonging to past Chinese empires.

China does not claim Outer Manchuria anymore than Germany claims Alsace and Lorraine which France took from Germany after WW2.

F-35B doesn't have a missile that can shoot Tu-22M3M before Tu-22M3M launches anti ship missile from 600+ km away.

Japan can keep whining, it will never get those islands back. What is it going to do? Invade them with their geriatric troops? And great move by the US, just solidifying enmity with another great power more.

Things change and interests change. China and Russia’s interests converge strongly for now and the future, and that’s not likely to change soon.

Another desperate move by the U.S regime trying to create trouble at cost of two other parties. Will the indoctrinated Japanese fall for this is the question.

Did you forget that the UK had a significantly more powerful navy than that of Argentina ... just like Japan has over Russia? The JMSDF could just form a protective screen around the Kuril Islands and Russia could not break through with the meager assets they have in the far east. And let's not forget the Kurils are much much closer to Japan than they are to the Russian heartland, where most of Russian military assets are still focused on Europe. The only way Russia can transport stuff is either along the Trans-Siberian line or an airlift, the latter of which is infeasible due to Russia's limited transport capabilities. Japan could move way more assets way faster due to their proximity.

Everyone knows they still have bad blood with Russia over this ... this is why China has not significantly deepend relations with Russia in any form other than some trade relations.

Not really. Argentina had 1 aircraft carrier. Britain had 2 aircraft carriers. On top of that Argentina had a cruiser plus state of the art Israel Dagger fighter jets and French Super Etendard anti ship strike planes. Japan has no aircraft carrier whereas Russia does. On top of that, Russia has nuclear attack subs and AESA equipped warships which gives Russia edge over Japanese warships in technology.

On top of that, Russia has strategic bombers which are deadly to ships wheread Japan lacks strategic bombers.

Russian bombers can strike Kurils from Moscow. They have the range for that.

China Russia relation has improved a lot recently. China Russia signed treaty in 2004 stating neither claims land of the other, and last year they built the first bridge over Amur connecting China Russia by road.

Do you really think one smoky Russian carrier is going to stand a chance against state of the art Izumo's with F-35Bs? Come on man. Regarding Russian SSNs, it is not going to be anything decisive because the area of conflict will be quite small, negating their range. Besides, Japan has those Soryu class submarines which are easily on the same level in terms of acoustics. I'd presume Japanese electronics are far superior as well. And of course, don't forget about the Japanese AEGIS.

Moscow to the Kuril Islands is 1000 kilometers? Are you for real?

All for convenience. At that time, China was military much weaker and needed Russian arms/technology. At the end of a day, a treaty is a just a piece of paper and can be broken at any time. The Sino-Russian alliance is really just smoke and mirrors to use as leverage against the West .... nothing more.

True. Every country will try to take over the whole planet if they have the military power to do so. China. Russia. Everyone.

About 7000 km. Tu-22M3M can strike 8000+ km with aerial refueling.

Russia has top notch electronics too. Russia has super computer.

Yasen is armed with LACM range 2000 to 4000 km. It vastly out ranges Soryu. AEGIS is PESA, it is technologically weak against Russian warships like Gorshkov frigates and Gremyashchiy corvettes which have AESA.
