US Fifth Generation Target Drone to Begin Test Flights

. .
This is a target drone....first of its generation that's been publicized......I don't think neither of the two mentioned nations are thinking that far ahead in terms of target drones....

I hope these nations are planning that far ahead, otherwise they'll be busy calling themselves drone super powers with their for example 2nd generation drones whilst USA wakes them up from their dreams by introducing 5th generation drones

Very similar to the current fighter jet generation, most of the world is on 4th generation whilst USA is quietly planning 6th generation fighter Jets.

I was just reading a release (rumor) today that coincidentally, of all countries, Vietnam is pulling out some of its stored but in flying condition MiG-21s and turning them into UAVs. This ought to be very interesting. I'll try to find the article and post it.
We can turn out J7s into unmanned jets
For most countries that don't have a military budget like the mighty US, this might not be a bad solution. But MiG-21 style aircraft are already difficult to fly with pilots, not sure how effective they would be as unmanned drones?
So we can also convert our obsolete old gens into new monsters?
We can just a simple need is Huawei 5g networking stuff to make sure its fast connection...
Or maybe an AI to control the jet mid flight and then UAV connection to give commands
Anyone with technical capability and imagination can...
To convert PAF F-7s into drones, flight, engine and landing gear controls need to be modified into semi-automated or fully automated controls such that these controls may be either remotely operated or through AI.

For surveillance/EW/ECM drones remote access will be needed to access the output of sensors and radar installed on the drone.

For armed drones, in addition to above, weapon delivery computer needs to be remotely accessible for weapon employment.

Rough estimated cost of research, initial development of modification kits and subsequent trials will be very high may be 20 to 50 millions dollars. But final production and modification cost may vary 1 - 5 million dollars depending on the configuration and type of package.
