Actually it's an airblast weapon,means it detonates in the air near the target...so how deep it penetrates it's difficult to say...but the massive shockwave will clear everything in its path!

The use of this bomb means the US rather use heavy ordnance and not conduct fighting on the ground in afghanistan, if it is possible avert deploying its troops!

AFAIK it sucks up all the oxygen in the area because of the explosion. Probably burns your lungs to a crisp when you try to breath.
