US drone strike kills 9 in N Waziristan

A US drone attack killed at least nine people in the Datta Khel district of North Waziristan on Friday, reported Express News.

According to initial reports, six missiles were fired on a house. There were no reports of any injured in the attack.

Islamabad has repeatedly denounced drone attacks on its tribal areas as counterproductive to the overall fight against terror, and that such unilateral actions violate the country’s sovereignty and provoke militancy.

Human rights activists have also condemned drone strikes for the high number of civilian casualties. The Obama administration claims drones are important in taking out al Qaeda linked militants.

Clerics in North and South Waziristan, in protest against the drone strikes, had announced of boycotting polio vaccination campaigns in the areas.

US drone strike kills 4 in North Waziristan

Miranshah: At least four people were killed and three others wounded in a US drone strike in North Waziristan Agency of Pakistan, northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan, sources said on Friday.

The sources said that the drone fired two missiles on a house in Zoi area of Tehsil Datta Khel, killing four people in the attack.

“Fear prevailed in the area as more drones are still flying in the air,” they added.

Drone strikes have become a regular tactic of United States to target North Waziristan, a safe heaven for the militants to launch attacks against US led coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Parliament had passed a resolution which demanded United State (US) to halt drone strikes inside Pakistani territory as it is violation of International law while the chief justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) had also remarked that the drone strikes issue should be raised at international forum.

Drones don't target BLA because they are based in Balochistan.

The Drones target the Taliban holed up in FATA as Pakistan has no control over that region and nor will it send its military forces into that region and thus the only way to target these people is to send drones and attack them from the air.

TTP and Afghan Taliban are one of the same. They are not different entities.

Its like the German Army which fought the Allies is the same German Army which fought the Soviets. There is no difference.

And how can you distinguish an Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban. They don't wear different uniforms or anything.

This is all nonsense.

Pakistan nurtured and trained these guys and now they have gone Frankeinstein and turned on Pakistan and now Pakistanis cannot come to grasp with reality and are instead inventing conspiracy theories that these are trained by USA and India and are somehow separate than the Afghan Taliban.

US drone strike kills 17 in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD: Missiles fired by a US drone have killed at least 17 people near the Afghan border, DawnNews reported.

Pakistani intelligence officials said at least two insurgents were also wounded in Friday’s strike near Miran Shah, the main town of the North Waziristan tribal region.

The US often targets suspected Taliban and al Qaida hideouts in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal regions, but the latest attack was the first since Pakistan reopened Nato supply lines to Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Pakistan closed the supply routes in November in retaliation for American airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
