US deploys hired contractors to perform intelligence duties in Pak: report

The presence of underground American contractors in Pakistan drew little notice until lately when it was reported that 90 of them have been murdered in the country in recent years. These contractors also perform “intelligence duties” by identifying “appropriate methods for obtaining the necessary in-transit visibility information”.

In a notice in The Nation in 2010, the US announced a bid for private war contractors to transport military warfare through sensitive regions of Pakistan into Afghanistan. The notice advertised that there will be around 5,000 import shipments and 500 export shipments moving along the ground lines in a month.

The US had to hire third-party contractors because of the threats of “direct US military involvement” in Pakistan. Though there is a variability on data but the US Central Command told Congress in 2010 that 137,000 contractors are deployed in the Middle East region including Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.

According to a private media outlet, a January 2010 report of the Foreign Policy notes how 62 retired military officials in Pakistan run private security firms and adds that US shifted towards private contractors after Taliban launched an attack against a UN residence in 2009, killing five UN employees.

This is old news, but we are under no illusion that this is definitely still the case in many other areas. There is a reason why US based INGOs are being kicked which is one part of stemming US covert presence in Pakistan.

WASHINGTON: US State Department spokeswoman, Heather Nauert, on Wednesday said the United States “regrets” Pakistan’s decision to expel 18 international ‘aid agencies’ from the country, ARY News reported.

Nauert, in a statement, said many of the 18 groups had worked in the country for years, employing thousands of Pakistanis and working to improve the lives of ordinary people.

A total of 27 international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) received expulsion orders late last year, but 18 appealed.

According to reports, affected NGOs include World Vision, Pathfinder, Plan International, Trocaire and Saferworld. Another group, ActionAid, last week said it was closing offices and laying off staff after the government told it to halt operations and leave.

The Interior Ministry on Oct 17 had barred 18 International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) from working in Pakistan and ordered them to leave the country within 60 days.

The 18 banned NGOs included nine from the United States, three United Kingdom and two from Holland, in addition to one each from Ireland, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland.

The Ministry has allowed 141 NGOs to continue their activities, while directing 72 NGOs to complete their documentations.

As per the instructions issued by the ministry, it will be mandatory for all NGOs to acquire an annual audit from the audit firm of the interior ministry. A total of 68 NGOs have accepted the rules and regulations of Pakistan.

Not only ngos, but behind every possible hiding. One of such example is a pure white molvi, that speaks good urdu, visits frequently to some local guys. If you study these local guys, you will notice that these local molvis are involved in some exceptional activities. Similar is the case of those guys, who frequently visit some foreign countries. In Pakistan if you observe them you will notice that these guys dont earn much, are involved in some exceptional activities. So the word contractor for me is very broad spectrum.

LOL even Breitbart is concerned for these INGOs. A KKK news outlets is worried about INGO explusion in Pakistan. That should tell you something.

The fact that EU and US governments are interfering in this matter should tell us how important these INGOs are for their spying activities. What is the logic for US and EU governments to directly handout fatwas on the expulsion of these INGOs? Pakistan is a sovereign nation and can decide for itself whether an INGO is allowed to stay or not. Why is there is so much hurt over the expulsion of these specific INGOs from the very top level of certain nations? Isn't that suspicious to say the least? Western governments don't even allow foreign NGOs from developing nations to set foot on their nations.

It is a very positive signal by the new government.
