India must be counting on that price getting offset by favors from the west. And they're not wrong to do so.
So far it’s just been bullshit. Trump continued to cancel H1B visas, corporations are not moving to India because of terrible infrastructure and labor issues, India’s economy is crashing and now it will face a hostile rival that is far more powerful. So yes India thought it would be rewarded but in reality, the pain it will feel will be far more than any gains. India’s leaders miscalculated big time.
