We have basically cut a deal with Russia long ago that Cuba is untouchable by us militarily. So Cuba have no worries about that.

Check out the relevance Iran and Cuba have to the current force projection requirements of the West and India.
Cuba is the least irritating to their immediate concerns, and Iran they are leaving to the Saudis to deal with.
If Pakistan was ANYWHERE else in the world, next to Chile.. we would be a very progressive country and NO one would bother what we do.

India is not an ally of any country save Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Mauritius.

With every other country we have partnerships. Declared policy. We ally with no power.

Our interests and threats converged at the time. We helped each other out in achieving those mutual goals.
