US ‘China Initiative’ racially profiled scientists, ruined careers

LOL.. You want to compare a migrant nation vs a country with 3000 years history? Are u high on some grass?

Apparently our migrant nation in a span of only a few 100 years went from a society of men working behind oxen teams in the fields to a society of modernization in the 1800's.

Meanwhile in China it took the turn of the 21st Century to get your men out of the oxen team fields..and it wasn't some big brained Chinese guys who enlightened you..it was some big brained white Westerners who showed you THEIR way.

We have big stadiums full of US flag waivers too but ours have Chinese people waiving US flags while yours doesn't have many Americans waiving Chinese flags.
:enjoy::enjoy:

Those are Chinese Americans. They are Americans, not Chinese. The USA is a country of immigrants, China is not. In 2019, 834K people were naturalized in the USA.

Every foreigner naturalized in China must be personally approved by the Chinese Minister of public security. In 2019, only 3672 people were naturalized in China, of which 74% had a doctor's degree or above, and the rest were senior athletes or overseas Chinese with special needs.

These people had acquire Chinese nationality in 2019:

A country that proves the exist of time dont look at just little history of 200-300 years.

Egypt Pharaoh civilization is so great 4000-5000 years ago that no that time can match and yet what happened now? The language and culture is no more.

Mongol also achieved great feat of globe mainland near domination 700 years ago and guess where they rank in world ranking now?

China was once a superpower during Han( Roman peer) ,Tang dynasty and Ming dynasty with giant fleet globe exploration thru out its 3000 years history with CPC now reclaiming the our original spot.

Maybe after another 50 years, US dont exist as an United States, who knows? I better put my money on proven China than a new comer like US for global superpower. :enjoy:

In 5000 years of history, there were many neighbors outside the great wall of China, such as Xiongnu people, Guifang people, Xianbei people, Huihe people and so on. They all became superpowers in less than 100 years. But now they are all killed by the Chinese.

In 1279, 30 million Mongols occupied Europe and Asia. In 1368, the Mongolian emperor led 100000 disabled soldiers to flee China. Soon there were only 1.5 million Mongols left in the world.

and the China is still China

I don't see the relevance of a Canadian, a Kenyan, Jackie Chan's son (his parents aren't even Americans!), and Joan Hilton (who BTW never renounced her US citizenship) as good examples of anything to do with the current US/China discussion.

Not killed. They assimilate into Han Chinese. They speak Chinese, use Chinese writing system, learn Confucius and practice Han culture becos they deemed it superior.
I don't see the relevance of a Canadian, a Kenyan, Jackie Chan's son (his parents aren't even Americans!), and Joan Hilton (who BTW never renounced her US citizenship BTW) in the current topic.
How is it not relevant when some think nobody want become Chinese citizen with only Chinese wanted to move out of China to so called paradise (Hell) of the west?

You are perpetually clueless. Everything that comes out of your mouth just shows your absolute ignorance of FACTS.

Many decades eh? That's just so incredibly stupid it proves you have no capacity to think at all. How long do you think people can simply hang out in the US..decades eh? Really?? Are you saying Chinese people would rather scrounge around poor in the streets for decades unemployable (since their legal paperwork expired) rather than live in China?

Besides the latest big wave from China has come AFTER 2000 when China modernized.

in 2000 there were 989,00 immigrants from China in the US.
in 2016 there were 1.6 Million.
? ?
U know there are 22 million people in US without naturalization?
How many are waiting for their children to reach 21 to achieve whole family naturalization?

America want immigrants and talents so immigrants go there for jobs so what?

I'm just telling you what kind of people can become Chinese nationals through the approval of the Ministry of public security.
China does not accept all people naturalization like the USA. There are 290k refugees in Vietnam who have stayed in China for 40+ years, but none of them have obtained Chinese nationality.
And your news is out of date. Joan Hilton joined Chinese nationality in 2019.

PS: Akira Fujishima, the winner of many Nobel prizes in physics and the best scientist in the field of optics in Japan, has led his whole team to join Shanghai University of technology in China. He and two members of his team have submitted an application for Chinese nationality.

Good that they drive out all Chinese scientist from USA.

Thanks for stopping more Chinese scientist in US and make them work in China instead. :enjoy:
You are assuming all chinese scientists want to work in china

What does one anecdote change ?

If nothing has changed, you won't reply.

The world has changed. Some saw it, some didn't.
Some saw but cheat others not to saw, some saw but cheat themselves not to saw.

Maybe China doesn't exist in 50 years, maybe we will discover unicorns are real and the moon is made of cheese...
China is proven country. Bet against it at your own risk.

US one time wonder still questionable. :enjoy:

That's not how it works. Are you completely ignorant? Being a legal greencard holder allows you to apply in 5. Waiting until your US born child(ren) is 21 is nonsensical. Having them turn 21 doesn't help you one bit.

You are confusing people who are 21 trying to bring their relatives over from China. Sure that can take a long time..but those relatives are still in China.

Who said that? I'm sure there are plenty of Asians on PDF who'd love to move to China. They rarely post good things about their own country.

I don't hear many stories of US citizens of non-Chinese descent griping that they can't become Chinese citizens.

It's Joan Hinton ( a famous pro-Socialist who moved to China in 1949) and she died in 2010. So I guess "yay" for China for giving a dead person citizenship. That's an impressive example. :rolleyes1:

She lived in the People's Republic of China after 1949, where she and her husband Erwin (Sid) Engst participated in China's efforts at developing a socialist economy, working extensively in agriculture. She lived on a dairy farm north of Beijing before her death on June 8, 2010.
