US charges four Pakistanis in Mumbai attack plot

I reckon this story, has slightly improved India-USA relationship.

Will be better if they send those 4 terrorist to India to stand trial.

i dont believe these mind playing stories . .everything is inside job :)

I think its this same guy against who an interpol RC notice was issued last year.. Noose getting tighter it seems
Interpol issues notice against 2 Pak Army majors in Mumbai attacks case - Times Of India

I meant in legal terms.
Let's say I decide to bring a lawsuit against you, but name you as fox, but not foxbat. I lose my case there and then since you obviously become the wrong person (legally speaking), since the case was against "fox".

This is what I mean --> Major Iqbal what ???

I am not ready to believe that if they wanted to try someone, they know what to do and yet they leave loopholes...
Therefore my opinion is that the US is distancing itself from Pakistan since it needs someone to blame for its failure in Afghanistan. This is what most of us were pointing to earlier; the lack of committment on the US part.

.
yawn. Pakistan is the convenient escape goat for world powers to cover up their failures. Its easy to arrest a migrant worker who hasnt got resources to defend himself, and charge them with whatever.
The country with dialing code 92 which in arabic numerology means 'mohammad' (same as 'Bismillah is786) wont be so easy to finish.

WHAT NONSENSE!!!!! who said moahmmed is same as 92 and 786 is BismiAllah??? :hitwall: supersitious to the core!! please add a K to your name you will be succesful brother!

mumbai DRAMA is a thing of the past Indians need to get over it! and move on!

Two years ago 177 people were massacred in cold blood, for no fault of theirs. And it becomes a 'drama of the past' for you. And yet the majority of the Pakistanis keep harping about the Guajarat riots that took place over a decade ago. Come on guys, get some rest and visit a doctor. You might be suffering from obsessive–compulsive disorder. Get checked.

mumbai DRAMA is a thing of the past Indians need to get over it! and move on!

By continually denigrating the mumbai massacare as a drama, what image do you want to portray of yourself. Is mocking that tragedy that solacing to you? Anyway, whatever you may call it, this case will be taken to its logical conclusion, no matter what happens. The developments are slow, but surely firm.

The relations between US and Pakistan is merely based on US personal intrest..... I think US does not think pakistan as an asset anytime... When their job will be done they will show their real face then....

And on other hand they are trying to please India to get some huge defence deals .......

Actually it works both ways. Both US and Pakistan are using each other for personal gains unfortunate but true. But even this relationship has passed way beyond its expiry date. In such times both countries need to work cautiously but it seems US has already made up its mind. I agree with your last line.

Be firm with Pakistan on extremism: MP
(AFP) – 14 hours ago

WASHINGTON — Western powers must be firm with Pakistan about its need to crack down on Islamic extremists, but there is no alternative to continuing to work directly with Islamabad, lawmaker David Miliband said Friday.
Miliband, foreign secretary from 2007 until the Labour Party lost power last year, voiced alarm at the influence inside Pakistani society of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant group blamed for the deadly 2008 siege of Mumbai.
"We should be engaging with Pakistan; on the other hand, I feel very comfortable speaking very plainly about the responsibilities that they have," Miliband said at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington.
Pakistan needs to do more to hold assailants for the Mumbai attack accountable and if Lashkar-e-Taiba is expanding its reach, "then we need to be even more insistent on the need to roll up that infrastructure," he said.
But Miliband, who said he would soon travel to Pakistan, called on the United States along with the South Asian nation's neighbors to keep trying to engage both politically and economically.
"One of the most chilling things I've heard and read over the last few months is that America has a choice about whether or not to sever its links with Pakistan," Miliband said.
"Because if you think it difficult, frustrating, enervating, dangerous dealing with Pakistan at the moment as a partner, try fulfilling your own interests in South Asia without Pakistan as a partner," he said.
Miliband welcomed a letter sent by President Barack Obama to his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari in late 2009, in which the US leader offered expanded cooperation but demanded Islamabad do more against Islamic militants in India and Afghanistan.
"It was a very important step, proposing a strategic relationship for the US and Pakistan to replace the unbalanced -- essentially military-only relationship, individual leader-based relationship -- of the past," he said.
"I have criticized the Pakistani government for the way in which it failed adequately to respond to the significance of the outreach," he said.
Pakistan has a historic rivalry with India and helped create Afghanistan's Taliban, but it abruptly sided with the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
