US breathes life into a new cold war

Good read but a pro-asia article to say the least.

Gas and energy, should be in interest to all nations in the world and not a selected few.

Why just gas and energy?? Why not gold and platinum and financial reserves?? I don't know what you were thinking but the statement is lightheaded. For more than 20 years the US has been trying to sabotage the Asian energy grid, but because it has been cut out of any deal, but because it does business mafia style, if there is a dollar on the table, the US must have 90 cents of it, and it's Western allies the rest - of course some of our Indian friends imagine themselves as Western as well.

Independent Asian countries also have an issue with how the Wall Street regime that rules the American Empire is going about bombing people and the propaganda directed outwards from CIA headquarters.

You should ask yourself: Why has anti-Americanism grown rapidly, not only in the Middle East for obvious reasons but in Russia, China, India, even South Korea, countries that used to be pro-US policies at one point (Russia 90's, China 80's, India 90's, South Korea is occupied)? Are 3 billion people dumb, or do they see something that you, from the inside, is unable to see?

We see the propaganda on RFA and VoA, we see the fake news distributed by BBC like the infamous "Jasmine is blocked on Chinese web servers" and the 2008 Tibetan protest lies, we see how the US regime refuses to acknowledge any of its past crimes. South Koreans know even more, how the US backed dictatorship slaughtered tens of thousands of them at Jeju and Gwangju with machine guns. I won't list the offenses one by one, there are far too many. The fact is, it would be better for the world at this point for the US to just vanish. The US can do this "vanishing" voluntarily. It can stop attacking other countries, it can stop using food as a weapon and stop using the USD as a weapon, it can pull back soldiers from overseas. Or it can do this "vanishing" involuntarily in the future.

Why should I be asking anything of myself? I could list all the issues independent Asian countries have with China but I have no need to. I'm not going to digress further into all of that. I was simply addressing his somewhat "personal" attack on me and you completely changed the subject at hand.

I wanted to ignore this but really? Other than your country/location flags being American, your extremely pro-China in attitude and views. It's almost as if your anti-America at times. It's extremely worrying unless you consider yourselves Chinese and not American.

At the current time, any country with interests in protecting its own rights or freedom before supporting China will not be able to coexist with China's rise. That is why China has issues with almost all its neighbors. Also, I'm not anti-China or anti-Asian and I in fact want Asian countries to rise up as well but I have issues with how some of them are going about doing so.

Also, what's with the double quote?

Oh, it was lagging as I was posting, so I reload. lol

Anyways, it is not up to you and me to dictate such values to China as China has not directly challenge our American values in our domestic affairs. Also, me being so called, pro-China, is just to show you that America has a diverse set of views among its citizens. That is just one of the good things about America right? Freedom of different views and stances on certain issues and foreign countries. Therefore, you should already know I have the freedom to take a certain stance on China.

Firstly, I took your post as a sort of "personal" attack or insult. If that was not intended, okay.

Anyways, I'm not attacking China but I am simply stating my opinions and issues with its affairs concerning other countries. I am entitled to do so. Also, I agree that it is a good thing for our country to have a diverse set of views. Only up to a point though. Supporting a foreign country over your home country is inherently wrong to me. Perhaps, there are exceptions albeit very rare.

Right to take a freedom of stance on China? When did I say you could not? I simply made the claim you seemed pro-China in many aspects and as an American, it seemed worrying because the US disagrees or has issues with China on many different things. Furthermore, from your posts, it seemed that you were more concerned for China and its rise (well-being, etc.) than the country you live in. I completely disagree with that view but you are entitled to it.

How about we allow U.S. to join SCO and U.S. allow China to join NATO??? :)

.
u r seriously kidding me right??? seriously you are comparing pakistan to africa, or you are wanting to make pakistan one by frequent terrorist drone attacks??pakistan is the member of N11, the most potential future economies of the world
Pakistan is on the brink of approaching a failed state status in current times. Trust me; some African states are doing better then us.

If Pakistan is to succeed and join the club of developed states; this nation would need to sort out its internal issues and reform its strategic policies.

pakistan has one of the best agricultures in the world much ahead of US and canada, and it has loads of minerals deposits, one of the most irrigated countries in the world and 6th biggest population
Pakistan is an agricultural economy so it is expected to perform good in agircultural sector.

US is an industrial economy. However, its agricultural output is still phenomonal because of its size, better resource management, advanced technology, and check on corruption.

Total US agricultural exports crossed 100 billion USD mark in 2009 alone.

Pakistan's total exports are less then 20 billion USD mark. The total agricultural exports of Canada are above this mark.

So what are you smoking?

seriously i dont think americans are foolish, but in ODF americans are not only illeterate foolish but paranoid as hell and full of hate and stupidity
The list of 'illiterate emotional fools' not just ends at the Americans.

In reality, India has never been an ally of USA. The honor is all yours.

The most allied ally, major non Nato ally and so forth.

Of course, there is a convergence of interests lately on many issues, especially economic and security issues but India keeps its own council for the most part.

BTW, most Indians would be for increasing co-operation between developing Asian and African countries. After a really long time it actually makes sense as well.

For SCO to succeed it will have to control nations like Iran who insist on obliterating Israel. Or country like Pakistan who insist on getting all of Kashmir. Cause if India is coerced into making concessions on Kashmir, it will back out, and if Pakistan is coerced to make concessions or at least stick with status quo on Kashmir, it won't be happy. And knowing the history of Pakistan-American relationship and American influence in Pakistan, it won't take too long or much for Pakistan to swivel back to the American camp.

Its not all that easy, and knowing America and its history that country isn't going to go down all that easily. Who knows they or Europe might come up with cheaper and alternative source of energy and start selling that to the rest of the world Knowing their past technological and scientific achievements.

Also Bhadrakumar is an ex diplomat.

Plus he is/was with the CPI (M) ;)

china/vietnam isnt a major issue that can turn to total war. 2 socialist nations should never go to war again. pak/india is unfortunately a flashpoint.

There is more than enough people on this forum who consistently hate on Americans, Indians, non-Muslims, etc. and often get away with it.

Yet another 'American' who rails against Pakistanis and Chinese and who has a soft spot for Indians...

Just imagine the new world order that could be built with the Asian nations at the centre. No more condescension, no high-handed pressure tactics, the unification of the real economics engines of the world. If only we can learn to trust each other and I'm saying that about Pakistan and India in particular.

Zero chance of that happening.

All the countries on their way up have their own dreams of hegemony and stardom.

Russia is only 'slumming' it in Asia -- their heart lies with their slavic brothers in Eastern Europe -- and they eventually want to regain their status as a superpower leading Europe, or at least Eastern Europe. They have much more in common with Eastern Europe --- culturally, historically and strategically -- than with anyone in Asia.

There is rising nationalism in China which wants to settle old scores in the South East Asia first.

India is still smarting from the utter lack of respect it gets in South Asia and all the fake adulation from the West is meaningless unless it is accepted as the uncontested representative for South Asia. That is simply not going to happen, as the South Asian countries have made clear by inviting China into the equation.

Pretty blunt.

A over confident Pakistani assuming much about Chinese participation in South Asian affairs. Your romance with China is interesting but full of ignorance. India has accepted China or vise a verse more than any other south Asian country; if you know maths of trade. If china has satisfied Pakistani itch for weapons and nukes then it doesn't mean other south Asian countries will be excepting the same from China or fitting into the same calculus.

Pakistan is a mess and India would love to push Pakistan more closer to China, let them fish in troubled waters when Pakistan is nothing but a liability.

It is not no relations and nationalism, economic interests are all. In fact it is clear to everyone.
