Nearly every country around the SCS wants increased US presence in the area. It's why we're deploying military assets from countries like Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. We're increasing our relationships with Indonesia and Vietnam as well.

The fact of the matter is that as long as we fly and sail the SCS and have that forward presence our influence is entrenched in the region. China will never be able to fully control what comes and goes through the SCS, even though it dreams of doing so.
