US appreciates Pakistan's sacrifices against terrorism

ISLAMABAD: United States Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) Daniel Feldman expressed deep appreciation for the efforts made by Pakistan in its efforts to root out terrorism and extremism and honoured the sacrifices made by its forces and citizens.

Feldman in a meeting on Tuesday with the adviser to the prime minister on national security and foreign affairs, Sartaj Aziz, acknowledged Pakistan's success in the fight against extremism.

The US SRAP was accompanied by Ambassador Richard Olson.

The discussions between Feldman and Aziz covered Pakistan-US bilateral relations and the situation in the region.

Sartaj Aziz noted the positive direction of ongoing cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of defence, energy, and the economy, and also underscored the comprehensive measures taken by Pakistan to counter terrorism and extremism in the region.

The adviser briefed the US SRAP about the improvement in Pak-Afghan relations, and the current status of the country's relationship with India.

The meeting was held in the wake of a series of US drone strikes in North Waziristan which killed suspected militants.

The strikes were strongly condemned by Pakistan, with newly-appointed Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah saying,"Such strikes are a clear violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity."

I'm sure they do! It was NOT our war and it's become ours. The US knew what was going to happen and our pathetic leadship gave in to a mere threat of 'turning us to stone age'. They insulted us, well the leadership when a Congressman said, ''A Pakistani would sell his mother for a $1000'. After 14 years, they now say, ''for a dinner, a visa to the US.'' Google it!

We don't have the eqiupment to fight night operations and counter-insurgency. When we ask for night vision goggles (they're on loan), when we ask for attack helicopters, they NEVER give is the numbers and SPECIFICATIONS we need. Always compromised! F16 blk 52, radar below spec, and conditions attached to it. Paid for by Pakistan and they tell us, where and when and how we can use them.

4000+ Pakistani soldiers sacrificed their lives, 50,000+ people have been killed in Pakistan and they still lecture, we're still NOT doing enough!

They Murder our citizens using drones and call it Collateral damage! Raymond 'DEVIL' Davis murdered two Pakistanis in broad daylight and walked away. Can you even imagine that happening if a Pakistan did that in US?

So, please we don't need their empty, worthless appreciations!

US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) Ambassador Daniel Feldman has appreciated Pakistani security forces’ sacrifices and efforts for peace and stability in the region. Cooperation between both countries is important not only to foster peace in the region but also to completely crush the menace of terrorism that has plagued the region for decades. The high level meetings between the leaders of our two countries have proved important to keep the region stabilized even as we drawdown from the Afghanistan.
