This is funny but a bitter TRUTH.

When you are not on their side then they will find new excuses to attack you.

Official statement from the U.S. State Dept: link

Ok. Now lets talk about the big elephant in the room. All those jumping with 'joy', how is this statement any different from previous statements from US officials? They have previously been sorry for PA's losses and they have previously also offered sincere condolences to the families involved. How is this any different? I dont find anything new here, except for opening of NATO supply routes.

Only because these words were accompanied by NATO routes being opened by GoP creates such a difference, no?

In addition, I am pleased that Foreign Minister Khar has informed me that the ground supply lines (GLOC) into Afghanistan are opening.

It is quick decision to open ground supply lines, it should be pause and forward message to the President.

Obama tells Russian PM "After Election I Have More Flexibilty" 3/26/2012 - YouTube

It should be "I understand, I will transmit this information to Vladamir Putin" @0:23, we should not accept quickly after apology, it should be formal process and time being.

:hitwall:

2 Key points

1. Stress on the fact that mistakes were made on both sides that lead to Salala incident
2. America is sorry for loss of life - basically a regret statement and not an Apology. Though enough for the Pakistani govt to spin some face save
3. No change in tariff being charged by Pakistan. Stays at the cost reimbursement of $ 250 per container.

Personally I am disappointed by Item 2. An apology was in order, which is the case for all blue on blue incidents.

REMEMBER, its a morale victory by pakistan,s strong stand against the only superpower of the world!
they already , accept our demands now we are open for the bussiness, ONCE YOU WON , YOU WON? WINNERS WRITTES HISTORY!
other things will be decided, with our victory on the morale grounds!
No this is not victory but instead defeat accepted by Pakistan at last. Cuz Obama never said sorry in any press conference and Hilary never said sorry in any joint press conference or requested for an official appology......Get ready there will be another Salalah like incident very soon.....I guess then our ruling elite might learn some lesson.........:smokin:

TBh, I believe an official acknowledgement of the accident should have been made long time back.. Soldiers from Army were killed, even though in accident but the mistake should have been acknowledged..

I am surprised what took so long.. I think lots of other things in the back ground were going on and apology was only for public consumption..

It's a good thing - Now snakes like Karzai and India can't exploit the situation between PAK-US.

.
no transit fees thats surprising , good settlement but wat pakistan gains besides a telephonic sorry ?

you just show me this line when they said before please ???????//

We are sorry for the losses suffered by the Pakistani military. We are committed to working closely with Pakistan and Afghanistan to prevent this from ever happening again.

.
The lost of lives won't be able to come back .. but atleast they said sorry and that too to get the work/supply back on track to their troops anyhow overall we are now over the tom and jerry drama hope relations improve.:pakistan::usflag:

.
Why say sorry over a Telephonic conversation? Why there isn't any official Pentagon statement issued with a 'formal apology'?

This looks like a 'fake' apology just to give an excuse and open supply lines by the more money monger PPP.
