US companies will need an export licence to sell to seven Chinese state-affiliated firms in the aerospace and chips sector after Washington blacklisted them on Wednesday for supporting China’s efforts to modernise its military.
The US Commerce Department said in a statement on Tuesday that it would add four research institutes under a Chinese space agency, two under a state-owned military technology firm and a satellite firm to its export blacklist.
The list, known officially as the Entity List, includes around 600 Chinese firms deemed to be operating against US national security and foreign policy interests.

.
chips & aero space are required for military.
so Boeing is making apaches for peaceful civilian purpose ? :D

These gimmicks can't prevent china from becoming a super power which is a reality now, the sooner they realize the better it is for them

But these gimmicks set Chinese development back a few years, if not decades.

Take Supercomputer as an example, back in 2016, Chin has two of the top 3 Supercomputer in the world. And the development was red hot, I personally know a few people got hired from Hong Kong and work to develop Supercomputer in China.

Then in 2018, US start banning Chinese Company for advance IC transfer, that stop everything on track, chips runs dry and the Chinese own development weren't up to standard. There were talks China will break Exascale computing back before the ban (You can literally look up those thread here on PDF) but 6 years on, the same supercomputer they had in 2016 is the same one on the list of Top 500. Only now it has been eclipsed 6 times, with the US just launched an exascale Supercomputer Frontier in May, which is basically 100 times faster than the best Chinese supercomputer...which is still the top supercomputer in China

And then you have commercial impact. Huawei were once top 3 mobile phone maker in the world, but after snapdragon ban and android ban, they basically all but disappeared.

China just refuses to release new supercomputer data, but China's supercomputers are still far ahead of the United States. For example, China announced an E-Sub supercomputer before the U.S. announced the E-Sub supercomputer, which was deployed in 2018. This shows that the US supercomputer technology is at least four years behind.

I have a magic weapon that can destroy the world, I am just not releasing its data for you. But trust me bro, it existed.

Honestly, did you really just said that??

China is not willing to start a war of sanctions. You did win a game that China gave up.

Before China refused to participate, China had won the championship for more than ten years in a row.

Still, whatever you said is pointless, because I have a super-duper-mega weapon at my home can destroy any part of the world in mere seconds, I am not going to share that data with you because we don't have good relationship, but trust me bro, it did exist, and I am holding it right now.

This China vs America technological race is actually a boon to the world.
We can see more products to choose from.

It wouldn't be useful tho, because according to Mr Yang, Loongson probably already had chips that better than Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Ryzen 4 chip set, it just that they don't tell you that have that so no one can buy that........

Maybe they do?
Just wait and see for the results.

No rush.

. .
Well, they already did, they just didn't you.

Didn't you read what Mr Yang said?
Well, I'm waiting for it to hit the market.
If it's true, then it's good for the semiconductor market, more price competition.
If it's not true, well, it's a harmless boast.

Just curious, what's your current computer runs on?

This is mine. It's old laptop I use, I am going to get a new computer soon. This started to get really slow.
