The taliban did not get their religious extreamist views from the USA. They were used along with Pakistan to defeat the USSR occupation of Afghanstan.

USA did not give the Taliban their extremest views, they help hem propagate them and give it weight age on the world stage.

These same extreamist occupy large parts of Pakistan where the Pakistan military and goverment are afraid to go.

What have you been smoking these days ? You must be really "Out of Here" to make such a stupid statement, as for large parts being occupied, Bajaur, Swat, Waziristan and Orakzai are hardy large parts and even they have been cleared by the PA and govt writ has been re established, so I would like to question you, how did the PA manage to retake these territories if they were "Afraid" to go there ?

As far as the USA loseing the war that yet to be seen..

Quite the opposite many high level officials have declared that the startegy is flawed and a new one is needed, America is losing, we hope it doesn't because then we will have to face serious problems but right now, America is losing..........

The USA is allways going to be going after terrorist that are a threat to the USA. We are going to continue to produce the drones because they are an efficent way to deal with terrorism....non only are they going to many more of them, they are going to be much more advance. Right now in orbit there is the X37B it will carry missles an stay up for as long as 9 months at a time.

Good for you, how am I supposed to react ? We killed the same terrorists and beat their backsides out of our land without any drones at all, top that......................

Right now non-Westerners were 38 times more likely to be killed by an al-Qaida attack than Westerners.

Yawn... This thread still going? Yes US is a friend (when it suits her interest) and no it's not a foe... If it were, we would have been wiped off the map, a long time ago.

The USA treats Pakistan like a seasonal friend, treating us as a buffer against everyone from the Russians to the Indians (even though they won't openly admit it). Yet Pakistan and her leaders spent years under the motto: A friend in need... We have learnt a thing or two since then, time changes everything.

US is Pakistan's friend but we must realize friendship does not mean USA will be on our side always whether we're right or wrong.USA will work for it's interest and we should work for our national interest - There is no international friendship between countries except some rare cases (US-Israel, US-UK )

We should focus on being strong and building out own assets. We need focus on our own national interest. There are no ''friends'', only allies and actions of mutual interests. The world we live in is a dangerous one, and if your down, everyone will kick you more. Nobody wants to be friends with someone who's weak. What attracts ''friends''? strength, self-sufficiency, mutual interests/goals, strong qualities, strong nature, self-respect etc... We need to stand by ouselves strong first. Then, (ironically) ''everyone'' is your friend.
