I already predicted that Make in India was just a populist political move..India does not have the required expertise and infrastructure..it could not even churn out a functional fighter in 40 years..soviet union and USA were churning out new super sonic planes ever few years - each with technology light years ahead...

We are essentially getting a virtually civilian version which will be incorporated with military communications and sensors technology.

We don't have the capacity at HAL seeing they're already overburdened with the assembly of MiGs, SUs, Tejas, Hawks etc, unless most of the parts are outsourced to private manufacturers in India and abroad.
