The people of Bangladesh stand with the Kashmiris but since a possible outcome could be a war between Pakistan and India it would necessarily mean supporting Pakistan. The Bangladesh people are already expressing support for Kashmiris on social media while the AL government has declared that it stands with India. This clearly suggests a wide gap between the people and the government. Since the AL government is extremely unpopular and considered as pro-Indian a conflict over Kashmir could have a spill over effect in Bangladesh who like the Kashmiris want Independence from India. As for the 71 war which you allude to Ayub Khan understood it best. Let East Pakistan have its independence as it will eventually become a pain in the *** for India ... Had Bhutto, Yahya and Niazi understood this they would not have gone to all that trouble in 71. A lack of statesmanship and foresight which Ayub Khan had in abundance.

You clearly have not been following recent events in Bangladesh ... The AL was elected in a voter less election in 2013 and has rigged every election since. The AL government views are not a true reflection of the sentiment of the people.

All Muslims nations should stand with kashmir struggle and armed struggling of all Muslims in India. They Need separate Islamic state like divided 1947 in different parts of the country

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali talks to CNN-News18.

New Delhi: As India mulls its options against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Uri attack, Bangladesh has said that the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War against Pakistan will remain in the relationship between New Delhi and Dhaka.

“As a freedom fighter of 1971, we fought alongside the Indians during our war of liberation, I want the spirit of 1971 to remain in our relations,” Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali told CNN-News18.

The Bangladesh High Commissioner also asserted that in case India decides to strike Pakistan militarily, there will be consultation at the highest political level between New Delhi and Dhaka.



“It’s a sensitive issue,” Ali said, adding, “right now it’s hypothetical, but as close neighbours and allies and friends we will act together.”

“Our PM has strongly worded Bangladesh’s position. We have zero tolerance towards terrorism. Bangladesh stands with India at this difficult hour,” Ali said.

Adding that Bangladesh will continue to work together to eradicate terrorism from this region, the high commissioner said Dhaka was waiting for Indian agencies to complete their investigation. “After they have done it, we will take it up at the highest level for consultation,” he said.

BD has no other way except India, other wise BD can't play any role for Pakistan.

We reject the partition of 1947,we will get half India, Half India is is the right of the Muslims of Subcontinent.

This is actually unfortunate. Bangladesh is still stuck in its past. Believe me, I have no hatred for anybody in Bangladesh - but Bangalis are still living in their past which is bad for them only. None of your actions has an impact on Pakistan - come visit this place and see how many words do Pakistanis speak about Bangladesh in a year - pretty much none.

Why Bangalis are still not resting and still not accepting that Bangladesh is now liberated? Go on, live a life of peace and reduce hatred from your heart for your own good. We do not have any claims on your country anymore and we do not see you as enemies. Can you try and do the same for your own good?

Strategically its a good decision. Good relation with India is important for Bangladesh. But they could've stayed silent without taking any sides too. India is handling Kashmir issue and the Uri attack issue pretty wrongly.

I do think Indian army is doing excess in Kashmir. And there is people in India that thinks this way too. That has to be stopped. But not by separating Kashmir forcefully from India. No way Bangladesh should support separation of Kashmir. It's best for Bangladesh to stay out of it.

If Kashmir separates from India it has to be in a democratic manner. With voting and referendums. Not through war. And India govt should take necessary actions to stop military aggression in Kashmir.

Its been trying to explode but with the thousands of extra judicial killings, police brutality, executions and arrest of political leaders, censorship of newspapers and support from the central government in New Delhi it keeps getting stalled. I am not sure now are we talking about Kashmir or Bangladesh. Both places almost look the same now.

I follow a bunch of social media sites ... The vast majority are clearly in support of Kashmir Independence.

Well We do not support any terrorist activities. As such the ambassador is correct to an extent. However, It is also true that the people of Bangladesh is sympathetic to Kashmir Movement. Pakistan is irrelevant.

That's the problem with these people. Their minds are clouded and polluted by religion, and they will easily forget how they were treated like garbage for the sake of showing religious solidarity with the the very people who murdered, raped, butchered and pillaged them for decades. That's what blind faith in fairy tales (OF ANY KIND) does to people, and I can only say that they are completely warped in the head.
