For sure US forces will be back in Iraq, because Iraqi forces unable to handle the situation. This time they will do the job once for all. And US forces should stay in the region little longer.

Lmao where are the proud turks bragging about how they gonna send more troops in Syria.
Good job Iraq, the rats are now running back to turkey.

Turkey is too afraid to fly near Syria because of S-400 and now running away from Iraq. These Turks are embarrassing themselves and everyone is laughing at them

There better be something Turkey will gain from this or that its essentialy part of a long term plan because this just damaged our image as a future regional power.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances that put everything upside down (like Erdogan's attempt with Russian jet, which was a plain and simple act of desperation as he knew the jigg is up and tried to up the ante to mask the incoming failures), game is over. Erdogan lost.
Every day some allegation (y'day Norwegian .gov report on this, 2 days before that, indictment in Turkish court for a journalist exposing ties) comes out on how Turkey at the minimum turned a blind eye on ISIS activity or at the worst did it out of their own interest (oil smuggling, culling the Syrian Kurds). Getting isolated as days go by.

The statement by NATO.....that's a slap in the face saying, "we'll come there and watch over things so you don't get us entangled into something we don't want to be entangled with". Basically an act of no confidence.

Only thing that may remain is oil supply from Kurdish controlled Iraq and possibly some minor patches of land in Kurdish Syria. Whatever political capital you think you'll get by cosying up back to the three countries Erdogan already pissed off is chump change with political capital blown on this several years long operation which merely served as a tool to get a bit of land (in the bigger scheme to make Turkey energy transit hub-that was the long term play + Erdo's caliph ambitions) and if it were to be successful Erdogan would be calling himself the leader of Muslim world. That's why he is pushing for Assad needs to go so much, as he has fantasies, oops, long plan.

You will still remain regional power. The rest in the region ain't really going anywhere and long term projections for most are in between endless civil/sectarian war when "things" run out or marching to EU in hope it gives them asylum.

Blunder after blunder!Turkey has been acting like a hormone raging teenager lately, now turning into a Chicken? It doesn't seem to have a grand strategy by acting like an opportunist. It is embarrassing for a great power.
