What's new

‘Urdu is linguistic Taj Mahal of India’

whenever i watch any pakistani video on youtube i can not understand half of its words...while hindi cinema uses very very very few urdu words which are mostly used in hindi too...plus i can give many pakistani songs which use sanskrit words...

also my dear friend only 8% population of pakistan has urdu as mother tongue...
muslims in India have also broken myth that Muslims use only urdu...still there are more than 50 million urdu speakers in India

and that is a thing to cherish...variety adds spice to life :)

I think you are not right to say that only very few words of Urdu are being used in bollywood because all pakistani understand 99.99 percent hindi movies or drams except those sanskirt words which used during marriage ceremony or in other religious activities

Many indian cannot even differentiate between hindi and urdu words. I would ask you to post some songs here and tell me which words are taken from Hindi or Urdu and you will observe it yourself :)

Yes Urdu is not mother tongue of many Pakistani but it is compulsory subject in school and colleges so majority Pakistani understand Urdu languages. Many peoples don't even understand their mother lounge but prefer to speak urdu at their homes

.
Hindi is not main official language of India :)
i love urdu words..but not the script...
my native language which is marathi has some urdu words which increase nazakat of marathi :)

Those words in Marathi are Persian or Arabic words, not Urdu.

Urdu itself borrows from Persiaon and Arabic vocabulary. For grammer it is based on languages then spoken in northern India. NOT punjab. People of Punjab have spoken Punjabi, and not Urdu throughout history. A new language is created and enriched when its used, not in some lab in a city named after Luv.

Thanks to our rich history, our homegrown traditions, religions, music, danceforms, mythology, martial arts etc we did not have to import much.

if you have a rich history then why do you desperatley claim the history of pakistan ?

*the indus valley civilization

*Vedic civilization

*Gandhara civilization

*King Porus

*Takshila University.

Just some of the history and civilization you people try to claim from Pakistan.

Plz tell me? If you have a rich history, then why try to claim the history of others?

Its Takshashila :disagree::disagree: and Gandhara is in today's Afghanistan, Tipu Sultan was from south India and Khalid Bin Waleed from Mecca, where thankfully Today's meccans do not claim the broken statues as their own.

That answers it.

dude it is derived in urdu from sanskrit :)
many sanskrit words are found in indo-european languages...its not a crime to be confused :)

I know and that's what i said they are interlink with each others and many peoples don't understand that which words is actually Urdu words or Persian or sansikrat or Arabic..there is mixtures and we don't know which words taken from where unless we know all these languages(Persian, Arabic, Turkic, Sanskrit etc) as these all languages influenced each others.

also this song which uses word "Tarang" which is sanskrit
Ali Haider - Tarang Songs and Albums Music and Videos

me too know that after 1000 years our languages cant stay isolated from each other..but still there are people who made claims such as hindi cinema uses urdu words...which actually is stupid considering in india we have many languages and we use some words from all languages in our movies.

Raja Pakistani & Kingkobra,

This must be the longest continuous exchange of mails between an Indian & a Pakistani on this forum on an Indo Pak subject without bursting into flames.

Please accept my compliments on this feat.
