Research, medical and industrial equipments using radioactive materials should be registered with the concerned regulatory body (in India's case its Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) and their decommissioning should also be approved and supervised by the the concerned regulatory body. Had these guys managed to take it out of India it would have meant a big failure for India's strategic export controls as well.

When India is nuked someday by random guy because of India loose management of Uranium, don't call Pakistan or China to take responsibility.

The radioactivity of natural uranium is low and is safe for humans unless ingested and if you do, you die from renal failure rather than radiation poisoning.

This thread is an ignorance galore. Natural Uranium is legal to own in low quantities even in countries like US. They are used by industries for different purposes. This is not a nuclear material, it actually requires Uranium enrichment unless you own an enrichment facility in your backyard, it is impossible to make a Nuclear bomb or create a radioactive material out Natural Uranium.

Relax it's a few smugglers getting caught with an expensive mineral.

Natural Uranium is safe for humans (except for metal poisoning when ingested) and you don't need links just read some Wikipedia article it's written in detail about it. Where do you think Uranium is found? It's in the soil and water where people live, I live in a place where the sand has high Thorium concentration, I could hold a pinch of sand in my hand that has Thorium in it.
